My fiance and I love Indian food and sample it all over. To think that our new favorite happens to be newly-opened in my hometown was an unexpected treat:) We asked our server for her recommendations and despite them being different from our inclinations, we followed her lead…and were not disappointed! At time of writing, the chicken pakora appetizer is not on the menu and it was stellar! Imagine the best chicken tenders you’ve ever had and mix them with a bit of yellow curry and two distinctly-different dipping sauces. We would have come back just for this dish. Butter chicken is ordered on sitcoms but, it was a first for us…and we get it, now: that stuff is excellent. The spice level of 3 (of 5) was a little too hot for me (she could have handled far more), but the mango lassi yogurt drink they serve here cut the spice in half and let me enjoy the dish (pro tip if you are spice sensitive). The garlic naan is exemplary (soft on top, crispy on the bottom, and the garlic pieces were toasted beautifully) and paired perfectly with the malai kofta the server recommended (a yellow curry vegetarian dish). I hope everyone in town gives this place a try; it deserves your business!

The taste was decent—not bad, but not something I’d call amazing either. My main concern – I ordered chicken vindaloo, but it came with only 3 small pieces of chicken in a very small bowl, with more potatoes than chicken. For $19.99, both the chicken quantity and portion size were disappointing. I hope the restaurant considers increasing serving size or adjusting the price and menu names accordingly.

This was a hidden gem we found on a long road trip north. Amazing food and very kind staff. The naan breads (garlic and onion) were the best I’ve ever had! We had zero complaints. Highly recommend

Curry King was a mixed experience. We were seated right away, and the waitress was friendly and prompt in taking our order. However, the timing of the food service was off—dishes came out at different times, with one person receiving their sabji without naan and another getting naan but waiting a while for their sabji. It disrupted the flow of the meal.
The food was okay—nothing terrible, but not particularly flavorful. One dish definitely needed more salt. No one came by during the meal to check on us, which was a missed opportunity for better service.
The restaurant itself is spacious and quiet, almost too quiet—it felt a bit lifeless during our visit. There is a pool table in the dining area, which adds a casual and unexpected vibe.
While Curry King might be fine for non-Indians who aren’t familiar with authentic Indian cuisine, it falls short of expectations for those who know the dishes well. The name “Curry King” suggests bold, flavorful, standout food—but it didn’t quite live up to that title. Overall, I’d rate it slightly above 3 stars, but not quite a 3.5. There’s potential here, but it needs more attention to both food and ambiance.

We placed an online order and received an incorrect item.. We ordered CHICKEN Curry and received FISH Curry. When my husband went in to simply have them remake the dish he was met with hostility and arguement. This employee inspected the food and told him he was wrong. He rinsed off the fish and said it was chicken. He literally brought out kitchen staff to argue with him as well and then tried to shove a phone in his face to have my husband FACETIME some random dude that I assume was going to tell him he was wrong too. This was definitely fish. The dish was wrong and it could have been an easy fix..thankfully I wasn’t allergic, just grossed out. We won’t be going back due to poor attitude and customer service.
Edit: After writing this I was able to go back in and explain the situation again. They were finally able to remake me a different dish after much explaining and denying. For the record, I couldn’t have taken the dish back because the staffs hands were put in it repeatedly. And I was told I didn’t know what chicken thighs were first..Changing the review to reflect the outcome.

This place has some of the best Indian food I have ever had. My wife ordered the 2 piece fried chicken to try it and we waited wondering what Indian fried chicken would look and taste like. The chicken was cut into boneless chunks and served on a delicious platter of caramelized red onions, bell peppers and spices. Sweet and savory! Think of a sweet and spicy version of fried chicken fajitas with an Indian twist. My wife is hard to please and she said it was excellent. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala spicy (level 4 of 5 on the spicy level). It was creamy and delicious with the perfect blend of tomato, spices and sweetness. The chicken had a smoky sweet tandoor flavor that melted in your mouth. The dish came with a large portion of basmati rice and I ordered garlic naan to top it off. Their garlic naan was awesome and paired beautifully when dipping in their tikka masala sauce. One order was sufficient enough for two hungry people.
Now for the downfall…
Like many Indian restaurants the service here is not so attentive. We were one of two couples in the entire restaurant and still had to wait quite some time to order even though it was obvious we were ready to do so. The food also takes some time to prepare as it appears they run a skeleton crew even on a Friday night. It’s too bad.. this would have been a 6 star experience if the service matched their food. Don’t get me wrong…the server was very pleasant and nice just not that efficient. This is the second time we have eaten here and the food is consistently good but the service is lackluster.
Curry King you almost have it, concentrate on serving people right away and let them know they are valuable. Teach your servers how to spot a customer need before the customer requests it. You can be a legend in this area if you concentrate your efforts on attentive, quick customer service and your business will flourish.

The food was great! Our group of 6 was craving the spices and carbs and Curry King did not disappoint! The portions were large but not excessive and the staff was very attentive. Our only drawback would be the different TV’s playing different songs at the same time.

Visiting from Washington on a trip, we stayed briefly in Crescent City and later camped in the Redwoods. Our first evening in the city after 6+ hours of driving, we decided to stop here for dinner.
Both my fiancée and I were incredibly impressed! No wait at all, quick service, the food was delivered in a good amount of time and the food quality was great. I’d say this was easily the best garlic naan we have ever had. I went with the lamb tikka masala, while my fiancée had the mushroom korma.
The food here was so good and memorable, the price more than fair, so we decided to stop here one final time before our drive back to Washington. Our local Indian restaurants need to step up their game… because my fiancée and I will be missing eating here at Curry King.

Horrible food mostly fillers nothing tastes fresh the drinks were watered down mostly cups of ice after asking for no ice….dishes were mostly rice after asking for no rice and the lamb was a joke both in portion and quality so as fast as I was excited to have some good Indian food I was pissed for the hundred plus bill for 2 and still left insulted and ripped off. Never again…should’ve know we were the only people in the place so no way to know til u paid wait over an hour just to get ranked by the worst Indian food I’ve ever had!!! A few hotdogs would’ve been better!!!! What a waste of time and money!!! Server was present for 30 secs 2 times to order and to pay.

We went there the increased prices and reduced the quantity of food given. So for 2 people getting a dish each you get enough rice for 1 person. Each dish is 18.99. The size of the main dish is diminished. At tge register the waitress tried to charge me extra for my dish. When I asked her about it , she said it was a new dish. I grabbed the menu and told her it was not. She tried to pad the bill. Don’t go there they will rip you off!
