So I’ve been to Veracruz once before, to meet up with some friends for some chips and drinks. So I was pleased to do a date night at Veracruz. The atmosphere is like an elevated dining experience with the decorations and with a Latin theme. We started off with the corn dip, which is very good. My wife got the shrimp quesadilla and she loved it. I got the chicken and steak fajitas and I use some of the corn dip to make my tacos. Wow the flavors melted together extremely well. All in all a great dining experience.

Beyond surprised by this quaint and well designed little gem! Friendly and attentive staff. BEAUTIFUL space! We need more locally owned places like this in Baton Rouge. Definitely will be back!

Everyone working there was very nice, professional, and attentive! This place just opened but decided to go here for my friend’s birthday. We enjoyed all that we ate but will be back to try the drinks next time. There was definitely a lot of flavor especially in the fish tacos. The owner came by as well to check in and was friendly!

Amazing, new and unique food for BR! Exciting and exotic flavors! If you are a person who says “La only has fried food” go here! Fresh all around! Ceviche and octopus were so tender. Small lively and bright dining area. Loved it

To describe this place I would say it’s like an elevated Tex-Mex restaurant. The dining area is very modern, it gives beach vibes. The tacos were good but standard, there was nothing special about the tacos specifically. Since there are a lot of Mexican restaurants in the city I’m expecting unique dishes. Not for competition but to at least set each place apart. I will say the frozen margaritas were bussin!! I highly suggest getting that and the fries. The fries aren’t made with regular potatoes which gave a different flavor that’s was extremely tasty. So if you go those are my two suggestions, also shoutout to my server because he was super kind.

Chicken quesadilla and pork belly taco were amazing! You have to try the corn dip/salsa, it is really good.

our server ace made our experience so wonderful! he was so attentive! its like he could sense whenever we needed him! everything about our meal was perfect. we happy danced in our seats to the catchy selection of music that was softly playing because the food made our souls rejoice! i highly recommend the corn dip and jalapeño popper. be warned, the jalapeño popper comes in a quantity of one, so you may as well order at least two for each person at the table because you cant have just one! the only critique i have is that the tacos for the taco tuesday are a tad bit dry for my personal liking. but ace expertly recommended some delicious chili sauces that added exactly the extra oomph! we were looking for. 5/5 stars, im recommending veracruz to all my friends and famly. im telling everyone to ask for ace!

Food was incredible. Unfortunately, it didn’t justify the price to portion ratio. We quickly served on a very busy night, so our food took a while, but our waitress was very attentive. The drinks were also great tasting and more fairly priced than the food.
If you want great tasting food and don’t mind the price, this place is worth the experience.

The restaurant is oddly broken up into several sections. We were seated in the smaller dining area near the kitchen. The room was very bright and welcoming. I didn’t like being that close to the kitchen, but they are new and will probably change the layout in that room eventually. The food was next level, I really enjoyed the queso, the tacos, and the sangria they were serving. All there food is served in modest portions, so you probably won’t get full on a entrée alone. Also, they are pricey, so it’s more of a date night mexican experience than a grab food several nights a week from place. It’s definitely one of the best on Jefferson.

I can’t believe I waited on checking out this place. William the owner definitely knows his flavors. From the guacamole that is perfectly and minimally flavored to the Whole Fish Zarandeado (HIGHLY RECOMMEND), to the spicy cucumber margaritas, it’s really hard to pick a favorite. Let’s not forget about the Banana Brulee dessert. It was the perfect ending to such an amazing date night. And a special shout out goes to Payton, the bartender. She’s pretty much the best. I can’t wait to go back.
