Great Neck location. My family went for Valentine’s Day. We had a splendid time. Extremely enjoyable. Their mariachi band on Saturday is lovely and lets you sing with them. They are not overbearingly loud which is important when you’re talking. It was beautifully decorated. We’ve been many times. And, they’re extremely attentive.
My book club also goes a few times a year. Food recommended is Get the LIME BOAT MARGARITA. Their happy hour food at the bar is delish, dinner was table side guacamole, maduros, chicken mole poblano, steak fajitas, rice and beans, churrasco, excellent coffee and churros for dessert. Ole!! Going back!!!

Nice neighborhood Mexican restaurant with a huge dining room and a separate full bar area to watch the TV. Lots of menu items, think table side made guacamole, Fundido, grilled octopus, chimichanga, seafood paella and tons of seafood options. Service was attentive.

Extremely fresh and delicious food. The tilapia, shrimp, salsa everything was prepared with care. The steak in the burrito was marinated, tender and filled to the brim. Even my wife who doesn’t normally do meat loved it! Plantains prepared perfectly inside soft yet hot with a crispy sweet skin. Very reasonable prices. Will be going back to try more of the menu.

It’s a rather big restaurant that can accompany large parties. Parking is .. not the easiest. If you find parking, great. Most likely metered. You can also park by residential areas if there is any parking and walk. It’s a nice walk. The food at Mama Rosa’s is delicious! Must order guacamole with chips because they make the guacamole right in front of you unless you have a large party, or order more than one guacamole with chips dish. Hands down anything on a hot plate is excellent here! The meat is so tender and marinated well. The fish tacos were on the special menu and they didn’t taste too bad but I felt like it was missing sauces to make it taste great. The fish was not overly battered. I could still taste the fish. The paella was good too but I was so full from the guac that I didn’t really eat much of the paella. Just had a sample of it. The salsa and chips were complimentary but they not to fill up on those either. Overall, I would revisit again. Want to try other hot plate dishes

We can’t wait to return to try more menu items. Chips and salsa upon seating. Frequent refills and check-ins at the table. Everything was flavorful and beautifully cooked! Service was amazing. We were so pleased with the entire experience. Had such a good time that we didn’t even notice a full two hours flying by. See you again soon Mama Rosa!

My first experience at Mama Rosa, a Mexican restaurant recommended by a friend, turned out to be absolutely wonderful. We went there to celebrate my friend’s one-year surgery anniversary, arriving around 3 p.m. during the lunch hours. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was inviting—spacious, spotless, and decorated in vibrant traditional Mexican style with Spanish music playing softly in the background. We ordered several dishes from the lunch menu, including chicken enchiladas, steak churrasco, chicken coyote fajitas, and fried calamari from the regular menu. Every dish was flavorful and cooked to perfection—the meats were juicy and tender, served with generous portions of rice, beans, chips, and a side salad. The variety of sauces was impressive, catering to every palate. We also enjoyed a refreshing margarita and pinot grigio, which complemented the food perfectly.
Our waiter, Felipe, provided outstanding service – he was always present at just the right moment, refilling our water, clearing plates, and checking in with a warm smile. When he took a break, Miguel stepped in and maintained the same level of attentiveness. The restaurant manager, Maria, also stopped by from time to time to ensure everything was going smoothly.
For dessert, we had ice cream, and to our delight, we were served complimentary hot red wine – an unexpected and thoughtful touch that made our visit even more special.
Mama Rosa also has a great happy hour until 5 p.m., offering discounted drinks, appetizers, and wings. They have party packages available with different menu options based on the size of the group and preferences, making it a great choice for celebrations. On Fridays and Sundays, they feature live mariachi performances, and for special occasions like Cinco de Mayo, they offer all-day $5 tequila shots, live DJ entertainment, and happy hour pricing until 5 p.m.
Though the parking is limited and we had to park in a nearby plaza (which isn’t recommended due to towing risks), everything else about this place exceeded expectations.
They have several locations besides the one we visited, including branches in Jackson Heights and Monroe, Connecticut.
I highly recommend Mama Rosa to anyone who enjoys Latin American cuisine. If I could give them more than five stars, I definitely would!

I’ve been looking forward to trying traditional Mexican food in Long Island. The food was so delicious and the service was really great, too!Considering the fresh ingredients and flavorful dishes, you really get more than what you pay for. Highly recommended for those who want a quality meal without breaking the bank. We even had space for dessert. The Sweet menu offers a menu full of creative and decadent desserts. We had churros with ice cream. The desserts are as beautiful as they are delicious. We only had Brunch this time. We are looking forward to rest of the menu !!

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times, mostly because my boyfriend and I really like Felipe — he’s the nicest person there and the main reason we kept going back. The food used to be good, especially the empanadas, but now it tastes like they fry everything in the same oil. The empanadas were honestly disgusting this time. When we told the manager, she took the plate back but still charged us for it. I’ve tried giving this place a fair chance, but it feels overpriced for the quality, and the management isn’t the best. If you do go, definitely ask for Felipe — he’s usually behind the bar. The only good thing is there is never a wait but that should also tell you something …

The chimichangas with rice and black beans and Guacamole were delicious. Our bartenders Maria and Miguel were super attentive and kind to us. I loved everything.
Just one question, when will you have drinks available to take away?
