Unpretentious bar with graffitied walls has a punk rock vibe, discount pitchers & a jukebox.

Just a spectacular, working-class, people’s prices, proper bar in this high-end shopping district. Great staff, clean bar, no frills – you will have an awesome time. Highly recommended!

The absolute pinnacle of great dive bar-ness. Awesome owner, Kevin, working behind the bar. Great conversationalist, prices and vibe. Would recommend to anyone who loves a good, welcoming grungy pub with history.

Very shocking behavior. While the owner was there, everything was going great. I probably paid for 20/30 songs on the jukebox, other people were playing country songs, everything was going great. I play a huge range of music. Then the owner left, and a song that I “played for myself” I played a song, “I am a veteran with 80% disability for service,” I played a song written by vets Creative Vets and song was called “They call me Doc” once the song started playing, I heard a gentleman at the end of the bar complaining about the song, with the knowledge of what the song was about. Then after the song was over , I commented to the bartender that I wasn’t trying to offend anybody I played the song for myself and then she said something about HER being in a war. Which made zero sense, since she works at a bar in Portland. The Idea that the song about real vets being played by and for a real vet cause her to lash out and kick me out of the bar because she said “we are in the middle of fighting a war”. Yes she asked me to leave. I asked “Are you serious?” She said yes. I said ok and walked out. So the bar changed soon as boss man left.

This is an eclectic place to go for drinks but the vibe made me feel so uncomfortable and uneasy at this bar. It wasn’t busy but the type of other customers there didn’t make me want to stay. They don’t serve food. The bartender was super friendly and the drink (Old Fashion) I had was strong but my friend and I had to leave soon after our visit. I just felt too uncomfortable to stay. It’s hard to explain but I have no desire to visit again.

Bartender was great but mean people were mean to us because we didn’t want to talk politics and tried to fight us and the bartender allowed it. Politics should not be talked about while drinking. Everyone is just trying to have a good time. This should be a policy. Everyone should feel safe to have a good time. I work here in the pearl, and I will be telling everybody.I know this place is not safe.

Happened upon this dive bar while waking midday streets of Portland. Glad we walked in. Immediately welcome, like family, enjoyed our conversation and beers in a uniquely authentic hotspot for no-frills dive bar. Kevin the owner is incredibly welcoming and the locals/regulars you meet are so kind.

Dive bar for sure. A lot to look at including the graffiti on the walls. The place has character. Cheap drinks, generous pours. The bartender was precious. Bags of chips and jerky sticks plus a menu of things cooked in a microwave oven. I didn’t try any food but I would if I was hungry.

Solid place, good little hole in the wall rock bar. Cheaper then normal for downtown prices. 4.50 well, 5 bucks a beer. Pretty good pours, especially not as a regular.

I give this place a solid 5 stars because it is the most DIVE’eeeee-DIVE BAR I have ever encountered in my pursuit of dive bars!
Haha…and if you’re anything like me, I’m a lady but not that much of a lady. Meaning I LOVE me a rouge around the edges, real character, real stories, real drinks type of place.
Seriously a great place. And wait until you see the wall art! Uffff…

Me and my friends walked into the bar( two Hispanics, one white) with intention to order, but we had to use the restroom so that’s where we headed. The bartender yelled at us so, I went to the bar so that he could check my ID and order, which is why I thought he was yelling at us. When I got to the bar, there was a white blonde women who asked me why I was so close to her while i was waiting at the bar to be served, and she looked at me in disgust and said “that the line was “back there”. I then went to the back of the bar near the door and asked “is this where the line starts?” the people there said, “no we already got our drinks,” at the same time, the bartender yelled, “there is no line, you’re not getting served.” Me and my friends exited the building, but my friend who was white went back in to clarify the reasoning as what the problem was and why we weren’t being served. She left with no clear reason and left us to believe it was due to racial discrimination. We strong hope that was not the reason, but the way it was handled was unprofessional and aggressive. Please do better.
