We were in town on business and was looking for a place for lunch. We try to avoid the chain restaurants when traveling and usually look for something local and authentic. We definitely found that here! Service with a smile and that southern hospitality from the moment stepped up to the window. It was some of the best bbq we have ever had. The pitmaster has it down to a science we are in then fur a couple more days and already planning our next meal here again!

I gave this restaurant 5 stars just based on 2 lbs of meat, carry-out. The pulled pork is very good, but the smoked chopped chicken was most likely the best I’ve had. Moist, just enough smokey flavor, seasoned well. Contrary to another review, the pork was very lean, in fact, if there were a negative, it may have been a little too lean. Pulled pork gets a lot of flavor from fat marbling. It was good, however. I look forward to trying the sides. Vinegar slaw, mac and cheese, beans, potato salad. Next time!! Friendly service, clean restaurant.

Ordered the pork nachos and chicken fries… I honestly hate the fact I had to share with my wife because they were more than delicious. The server Ashley was awesome. Her suggestions provided us with nachos like no other. I recommend EVERYONE try them then go tell 100 people because the world needs to be exposed to this kind of deliciousness. Awesome job guys. We’ll be back soon

I was in Attalla/Gadsden for a couple of days and I have to say it is worth the trip over from Gadsden for Southern BBQ Co. I had a large brisket sandwich and onion rings. Being from a big BBQ town, this is going against the grain, but I prefer this style. It was extremely tender and fatty. Compared to brisket in Kansas City, as an example, there is much less chew. This brisket just melts in your mouth. Not everyone will prefer this style, but the alternative in the area was essentially pot roast with some really awful sauce on it. Speaking of the sauce, it is one of the best I’ve ever had. I don’t want the sauce to overpower the meat, and this sauce is just a perfect compliment to that fatty beef, not either too sweet or too tangy. Also they don’t do anything fancy with the bun. This is just straight-forward, good old southern bbq. If you are an onion ring fanatic like me, these were a real treat. They are large, meaty, fresh cut rings. Really glad there is good bbq in this area. Whenever I am back here Southern BBQ Co. is must stop.

I will never go back. This is the third time I have tried to eat at this restaurant. The first time I had a bbq sandwich that had more fat in it than meat but I tried it again anyway. I brought home a pound of meat for my family and once again there was more fat chunks than meat I felt as if I got ripped off. This time we bought the large cheeseburger. Huge mistake!! There is a tiny hamburger patty in a huge bun that is stale with way too much mustard. The burger itself has absolutely no flavor.

This used to be our favorite barbecue place in the area. Not after we went for our most recent visit. We ordered a large pork sandwich and pork potato. It cost more and we thought they forgot to put meat on our order. It was more bread and sauce over meat. Same for the potato. We will start looking for a new place for our barbecue!

We just now finished our very first dinner order from this quaint lil place. Normally, I just review whether it’s Wonderful or not.
This time, I’m going to list the cons and then the Pros.
The Cons are 1),The onion rings are tasty but overdone and grease not strained enough
2)the fixins on the burgers are cut to thick. Some may prefer this but it’s a challenge for me to eat.
Last Con, The Mayo slaw was okay but not great
Now, the Pros are why you absolutely should try this Eatery.
1st)The Cheeseburgers are thick, cooked to perfection, and seasoned exceptionally. 2nd)
The Peanut Butter pie is one of those desserts you could choose to eat in place of dinner, and finally, the hot dog was Delicious [according to our Daughter with special needs]
All in all We definitely recommend Southern Heritage BBQ
