Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in my life. No joke. Incredibly authentic delicious Oaxacan food.
We ordered the quesabirria — HUGE blue corn tortilla (gluten free!); delicious birria and consome — and the huarache with carnitas. Both were amazing.
The cashier was really kind, and the vibes were authentic and sweet. I will be back ASAP.

This place is amazing! The lady at the cashier was super friendly and offered to explain anything on their menu. We ordered a regular horchata, COFFEE horchata, quesadilla with carne asada, and torta with pastor. We waited outside in the shade, eating homemade chips and salsa they brought out, watching the groups of motorcycles ride by; very chill place. After a short wait they brought us the best torta and quesadilla I’ve had in my life. Huge serving, and amazing quality. The tortilla for the quesadilla was homemade with blue corn and had an amazing chrispy outside and soft interior. The torta was indescribable how good it was. I’ll be coming back again.

Super good! The al pastor torta and the chorizo and potato pambazo were huge (two meal size for me) and very fresh and delicious. Their tortilla chips and salsa are noteworthy. Pretty sure the lady at the counter mentioned that the tortillas were house made. Sure tasted like it. Their ‘hot’ salsa was a smooth style with great flavor without being crazy hot. Perky vs flaming. They also had a terrific cucumber/lime agua fresca. Super refreshing on a warm day. Not sure how ya get that much flavor from a cucumber but so yummy. Looking forward to going back!

The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the food is delicious. Glad we stopped in and gave them a try. My family and I had the quesadilla, tacos, burritos, and the torta birria. And for drinks we got the Horchata and the frescas. All were great, we were very impressed, definitely will be stopping in again.

This is hands down some of the best Oaxacan food I’ve ever had. If you don’t have anything to do in Middletown, I would advise you take a trip just for this food and that is good reason enough to keep coming back. The food is homemade, the best ingredients and the people are so kind here.

This is a newer place in my hometown, so I am trying it out for the first time. And I have got to say they’re worth stopping in. Located as the last or first business (depending on what direction you are headed) right on state hwy 128 In Middletown CA. They have a really cool flashy sign out front at night you can’t miss or pass up. I ordered a chicken torta and it was delicious and HUGE!!!! I usually don’t have a problem finishing my plate, and not due to the quality of the meal, had a full gut fast. I’m going to need a to go box!!!!! No doggie bag!!!! This one’s all mine!!!!! service is great. They don’t have a license for beer yet , but it’s on the way. Can’t hold them accountable for that. So they have a five star . If you are even just passing through or even if you are not really hungry you should stop and grab a dish while you’re here and eat it later.!!!! It’s worth it!!! Oh the main style of Mexican food won’t due here, they pride themselves on a more authentic juajaca style traditional cuisine, and I like it better than the usual mainstream mex. Figured I would throw that in.

Authentic Oaxacan food. This town is lucky to have it. The blue corn tortillas are hand made, soft, and don’t fall apart.

Absolutely outstanding! I ordered a three taco plate. The corn tortillas were clearly made today, the meat perfectly seasoned and cooked. My favorite part though is the chopped cactus mixed in. Topped with a little green salsa, it’s heaven on a plate. Take a chance on this new roadside gem.

Tucked away in an unassuming corner, this place is a hidden gem. The dining room, adorned with vibrant Mexican artwork and a concert flickering on the TV, felt like stepping into abuela’s home. The warmth of the service made you feel as if you were about to experience some legendary home-cooked food.
We settled in, greeted by fresh chips and a tangy salsa verde that woke up the taste buds. We decided to share the torta birria, and let me tell you, it was a revelation. Imagine a French dip taking a wild trip to Oaxaca, soaking up flavors and stories along the way. This sandwich was a masterpiece, a fusion of tradition and adventure.
Ten out of ten, I’m coming back for more. The visit was made even richer by an impromptu Spanish lesson and a delightful chat with the owner. “Quiero ordina tortas birria por favor!”

Another hidden spot in Middletown. The asada burrito is delicious and super tender meat. The Al pastor is one of a kind sweet and tender and if you add hot sauce that they give you it’s on another level of flavor. Gotta come back and try the tlayudas.
