We really enjoyed this low-key place, with a very nice staff and just a great spot to sit and enjoy conversation. Everyone at our table said the side dishes were the stars of the show, those being: cornbread, creamed spinach, mac and cheese, bbq beans, and the tater tots (which were perfectly crisp). For the main, some had brisket and some had pulled chicken, all good. The caramel bombs were pretty tasty for dessert. Oh yes, definitely try the spicy apple bbq sauce.

Delicious, REAL BBQ . I’ve had the ribs, chicken sandwich and pulled pork sandwich, and it all was PERFECT. They even have sweet tea, it’s so good! Most of the menu items seem to be made on-site, none of that precooked/processed “BBQ” like other places nearby. Stop in, you will NOT be disappointed. (Owners are also sooo friendly!)

Simple decor. The emphasis is on barbecue — with great success. They were out of pork, so we had beef brisket and ribs. The cornbread, potato salad and bean sides we chose were perfectly sized and prepared. We would highly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting La Conner.

We came across this place while visiting La Conner and absolutely loved it. Reasonable prices, scrumptious food, portions are very generous, service was outstanding. Felt welcomed and left very happy. Recommend 100% will return!

As a southerner constantly searching for good bbq in the PNW, I have to say Whitey’s BBQ is pretty good.
I had the pork sandwich with fried okra and baked beans. Just having fried okra on the menu puts them ahead of most places. The baked beans were unique but not exactly what I’d expect with bbq. I didn’t care for the blend of vegetables involved. The pork sandwich was flavorful and a generous portion. The cornbread wasn’t as sweet as I’d like but it was good. Oh and they had sweet tea that was actually really good. It wasn’t any more expensive than other bbq in the state (which are all overpriced).

Amazing food! Tried the pulled pork and ribs. Awesome. People we’re frendly and welcoming. Place is not supper big, but neither is the town it is in. Seemed to be a good size. Biggest gotcha is the hours. Check if they are open before you get there.

Wow! What an unexpected surprise. I have eaten BBQ in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Kansas. I have to say that this is the best I have eaten. Large portions and friendly service. We will be back!

Absolutely fabulous competition quality BBQ! Owners are incredibly friendly. Gorgeous atmosphere. Brisket is tender and moist, chicken is flavorful, and the pulled pork is the best I have ever had. Sides are quite tasty and compliment the meat. Even the BBQ sauce on the table is homemade and delicious. I highly recommend the Caramel Apple Bombs for dessert.

Very delicious food. I had a chicken sandwich with Smokey sauce which was perfect. They offer many choices of sides. I had cold slaw and baked beans. The cold slaw was creamy and not vinegary. The beans had a traditional flavor of baked beans but had a mix of beans which was different but tasty. I had a bite of my friends’ Mac n cheese which was very creamy and delightful. They even have fried okra which is something you don’t see offered typically. Great experience!

Our family went to Whitey’s BBQ for the first time last Thursday. The food is amazing! We ordered the sampler plate and the bacon wrapped chicken. Also tried most of the side dishes and everything was great!
Definitely be going back and highly recommend this restaurant. The owners are friendly and take time to talk to you about their food that shows they really care about customer satisfaction!
