One of the best Bolivian restaurants in the dmv I have tried so far. The service was great, food was delicious. The portions are big enough for 2 people honestly.. with that being said the prices were very fair. Will definitely be going back again.

La Tarateñita is a hidden gem! The food is absolutely delicious, with authentic Bolivian flavors that truly stand out. Every dish is prepared with care, and you can taste the quality and tradition in every bite. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a great meal. the service is not what most people are used to, but don’t let that keep you away. I am not exaggerating when I say the food is absolutely amazing—every dish is absolutely delicious and authentic. I had their chorizo plate, and every bite transported me back home. Be patient with the staff and enjoy!

The food was great, flavorful amd definitely transports you to Bolivia. While the food is to die for, the service is not. We asked for extra plates and we’re talked back to very rudely. Personally, I think the workers could be more warm and inviting since they are the ones with the customers but you should have patience with them as they TRY to have with you. Overall, The food is amazing and definitely full of culture.

My most recent visit to this place was mediocre at best. The staff was very rude and distracted when taking our orders and gave my family attitude when we wanted to switch to a smaller table.
We waited over 30 minutes for our food and it was not worth it at all. The Lapping, which is traditionally a flavorful dish served with meat and sauce, was the driest meat I have ever eaten. There was no seasoning on it whatsoever and it was gray from how long they let it boil on the pan. The potato and fava beans that come with it were also incredibly dry despite being boiled to cook, and the salad that came with the dish overcompensated with so much oil it was inedible. Just a sad, dry plate with no sauce or flavor that they have the audacity to charge $20 for.
Additionally, every time I have come to this restaurant, the music was so loud I had to wear earplugs. If you want a pleasant experience to talk with friends and have good food DO NOT come here.

As my first ever taste of Bolivian food, this was so delicious! I got chorizo and rice which came with a little salad and they gave me so much! I’m happy to have it for lunch tomorrow. There were many families enjoying their food and great music. I will definitely come back!
