I almost did not visit this restaurant because of existing reviews but I’m glad I did. The ambiance is on point, the music is low and in the background making it easy to have a conversion and the servers were friendly. I had okra soup, assorted meat, pounded yam and was offered a free starter of puff puffs. The food was well presented and it tasted great, I asked for very little salt and that’s what I got. I’m not ethnic Nigerian but I have been to Lagos several times and have visited numerous Nigerian restaurants in the USA. I would say the food is great and it caters to a wide variety of palates. I will visit again.

Yesterday my husband came and bought take out food for $166.41. He bought the baked fish for me and I’m just coming back from work this morning I wanted to eat and this is the plantain that you guys packed for him. The fish was $35. Jollof Etcettera is this food worth $35? Can you eat this plantain if someone serve it to you? I’m so disappointed. You need to improve your quality of food. The person who packed this food and cooked this plantain for your customers didn’t see that the plantain was bad? I’m so disappointed, I always order the fish and sometimes it’s burnt on the other side but I always let it go. We won’t be coming back.

STOP! STOOOPPPP!!!!
Wa gba! Discovered and visited Jollof etc at Owing Mills few weeks, boy it’s the kitchen of authentic in full HD color wholesome naija food. Well I decided to plan a second visit before jumping to the ultimate conclusion.
The second visit is today and boy, it was spectacularly delicious. Curious what I had? Well on the first visit weeks ago, had amala, goat meat and bitter leaf stew (101%). For the second visit today, had the beans, dodo plus goat meat (102%).
We also made the pilgrimage with friends who had a variety of different soups.
The conclusion from everyone is: Omo, this is full STOP! Mash your breaks!! Pull on your hand brake and park at Jollof etc.
We are already planing additional visits. Save Money, Take in the full experience and let your tongue thank you for a delicious enrichment of authentic naija food and ambience experience. I do talk my own oh!

A Hidden Gem That Defied the Reviews!
Honestly, I walked into this place with low expectations after reading some of the Google reviews. Some of them were serious red flags, especially the one where the management called a customer a liar . But my experience was a total 180!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a super respectful young man named Mofe (rocking a Stevenson shirt). He was warm, welcoming, and really set the tone for what turned out to be an amazing visit.
I ordered the abula and wow, 10/10!!! It hit every spot. The flavors were rich and authentic, and the meat? They did not play. A serious stack of juicy, well-seasoned meat that had me reaching for a to-go box just for the leftovers. My friend ended up ordering the same thing after seeing how much I was enjoying mine, and we both added more food to go.
I also want to shout out the chef (wish I had gotten his name) and the lady who was helping with service, they were both so friendly and kind. It really felt like we were being hosted, not just served.
For real, this place deserves way more credit than it’s getting. Great food, great people, and an overall positive vibe. Don’t let the reviews scare you, go check it out for yourself!

The service was decent. The waitress also sat us down and served the food, so I give her her stars.. the food was okay, the spinach had a funny taste to it, sorta like fuel for a car. The fish was pretty good and the portions were okay. However what I can’t get out of my head was the sound of the microwave and how they kept going on and on. I had to ask if they were microwaving the food? And yes the beef came out Lukewarm.. and it seems like the cook had stuff going on cuz he was outside on his phone having a very heated conversation.. and he was back and forth outside yelling. Unprofessional

I ordered beef suya and plantain and received my food cold. It took 20 mins for them to prepare my food and there’s no way it was made that same day let alone at the time in which I ordered. The meat was tough, dry, and lacked seasoning. It was obviously days old meat. The plantain was unripped with no salt.

I visited the restaurant with friends this evening. We started off with asun and I had ise ewu for my main course. I especially enjoyed my entree. There was a ton of food so I ended up taking most of my entree home. The service was solicitous, with care being taken to make sure we enjoyed the food. The menu is comprehensive, with plenty of choice.

Always a pleasure visiting the Owings Mills location of Jelloff Etcetera. Their welcoming spirit, outstanding service, and attention to detail are truly exceptional. Whether dining in or carrying out, my family and friends always leave smiling, delighted by the delicious meals they prepare. It’s the kind of food that feels homemade—comforting, flavorful, and made with care. A truly great place! ❤️

This is the worst place I have ever gone to order food. I came into town and went to try this place out, after a long day at the Hospital with my patients, I was fermished and starving. However, I kindly asked the young black lady there to recommend a good dish for me, with lies and deceit from her, she recommended Seafood okro soup which took almost an hr plus to get the food, mind you, this is a to-go. Food finally came out and looked nothing close to what was advertised on the menu.
I will never ever step my foot into this business again. Food was watery that I could wash my hands in it, tasteless, over priced and burnt fish.
Do not ever fall for the fake ads on their menu. This business is a huge disappointment, I had to trash the whole food.
Thanks guys for making me waste my money after a long day.
