Tokyo AYCE Sushi Hot Pot Lake Charles

Me and my two daughters decided to try Tokyo Hot Pot this past Friday. Being new to the “hot pot way of life” the waiter decided to help us out with his knowledge of how to do this. First you can get just the Hibachi dinner as a stand alone meal or you can get the all you can eat hot pot which also includes the sushi menu but not the Hibachi menu. We went with the AYCE Hot Pot because that’s what we came for. We ordered a few sushi rolls before going all in on the hot pot. Suggested cooking times are listed on the booth wall partition so there is no need to use Google while you’re there. Looking at the menu of offerings to put in the Hot Pot we each got different soup base. The mushroom soup was my choice it was very good leaving each of the noodles I opted for very flavorful. It also made each of the veggies and meats great as well. Julie went with the original gold which she also said was very flavorful. I tried her soup base with other things too. In my opinion this is the one soup base of the three we had that could use some soy sauce (which is a table condiment) or something else but I can’t put my finger on what it’s missing. Kel had the Sichuan Hot Soup with a medium heat. I got a taste of it before she added anything to cook and I could tell it had a little bit of heat to it but could have had more. I got so overwhelmed between everything we had ordered that I was full before I could try some ramen or mei fun noodles to see if it kept the heat through out our meal. Of all the meats and veggies we had the one thing I can say is to let the calamari cook for longer than the 4 minutes suggested on the table list. We will definitely be back for some more Tokyo Hot Pot!!

10 stars for service, food, and atmosphere. All 6 of us ordered all you can eat hotpot. First we chose the soup and the rest is just whatever you can eat. The staffs were very friendly, especially Danny, we will absolutelly spread the words and tell our friends to eat here whenever they visit around Lake Charles.

The hot pot is amazing. Total plant-based heaven. My only complaint is that they have no plant based fried ice cream. I would love to see a dairy-free fried ice cream option!!! Ps Khloe is an excellent waitress.

We went last night a group of 4 and wasnt impressed at all. Our waitress was horrible we had to ask how it worked she barely gave us details we had to figure out things ourself like where the sauce stations was and we had no utensils with the hot pot had to find her after several mins to bring us utensils, she was not very attentive to us at all we had better service with the waitress staff walking by then our own waitress. The hot pot wasnt something we will be back for it wasnt good enough to go back it lacked flavor, salt etc. Koko Ramon is 100% better, The sushi rolls and all other sides just didnt hit with all 4 of us. Sushi masa is still better and I’ll drive to lafayette any day then come back to this place. I dont know what all the hype was there but must be a lot of people that dont have taste buds going here or just dont know what good food taste like bc this place aint one of them got to go back places.

What a great experience! We went for the hot pot but the menu was massive and all you can eat means all you can eat. The atmosphere was great, the restaurant is very spacious, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Definitely a must visit if you enjoy Asian style food/hot pot/sushi/hibachi/etc.

My husband ordered the hot pot and loved it! It was an interesting experience to have a hot plate at the table then you add your ingredients and cook it! He loved it and it was fun. I ordered soup and sushi. One of the rolls was excellent and the other one was good. We would eat there again.

The food was great! I chose the Tom Yum as my broth, I continually eating ate the fatty beef, or the Lamb Slice, I give this a clean 5 for food, but not the same for the service. The service was terrible, my sister kept asking for the drain spoon, my sister needed to repeat that she needed the drain spoon 3-4 times, to 2-3 different workers. It took too long to make sushi, The atmosphere was really nice, everything was new since the restaurant newly opened. I recommend this restaurant for those who like to eat hotpot, I dropped this rating severely, went from a 4 -> 3 due to service and waiting.

Normally is always amazing. Been over 10 times. Went today at 3pm and it’s not busy. Seated in a small secluded room. Asked to move somewhere else and the lady told us NO. Then once we decide we’ll eat somewhere else then the lady at front offered somewhere else. Not how you treat customers when there is tons of empty seats. The small room is very awkward and not in the restaurants atmosphere. May try again due to its normally very good.
