Passing through on my way to Lake County and looking to take some BBQ home for supper. I got the sampler platter with 4 meats, 3 sides, Texas toast and two drinks. I added two additional meats and a turkey sandwich since we’re feeding 4. All the meats are so tender, juicy and delicious! The owner gave me a sample of turkey and brisket. We enjoyed their bbq beans, coleslaw and Mac and cheese. I’d be willing to drive the hour and 20 for the food again.

We (4 of us) had lunch on a Wednesday. We had prompt friendly service. We started with the Smoked Datil Deviled Eggs ($7). You get 6 half small eggs. They were tasty. We ordered 2 regular Chopped Pork Plates ($12.50 ea.), one with Datil Beans And Collards and the other with Coke Slaw and Green Beans, Chopped Pork Sandwich ($13) on Texas Toast with Datil Beans and 3 Rib Plate ($15) with Datil Beans and Corn Bread. The chopped pork was cooked perfectly, smokey, moist & lean. The ribs were also perfectly cooked. The Datil Beans were good, but could be spicier (they are Datil Beans after all). The collards greens were delicious. The green beans were fresh, not frozen and equally tasty. The cole slaw was fresh and tasty. We drank tea ($3.40 ea.). Our bill was about $79. Well worth it considering everything seemed to be homemade , the amount of food and everything was tasty.

Food was amazing. Platters give plenty of food for the price. Brisket and jalapeno cheddar sausage was delicious. Nice dining area inside and outside. Service was wonderful.

Beef rib special when available is worth it. Picked up the rib by the bone and the meat slid right off.

Bacon jalapeno poppers and smoked deviled eggs are a great starter.

We stopped here on the way to the springs and left about 10 pounds heavier. The food was excellent: you can’t go wrong with the ribs or the ultimate porker sandwich. The datil deviled eggs were also incredible. We’ll be back!

Why is it called bernt ends if they are unavailable? My husband was met by a woman who he couldn’t hear because she was mumbling. We ordered 2 brisket only dinners. Apparently they were out of some sides as well. She never made it clear all they had for brisket was fatty. Well we ended up with 2 slices each of nothing but fat and 2 pork ribs. We dont eat pork. Before forget I will take a picture of their “sauce”. It looks more like watery marinade. We spend alot eating out and are loyal good tippers. We were excited to try here . We will definitely be going to Lees BBQ in ocala when we want bbq. We consider it a waste of money. Unless for so.e reason it was just an off night I would not recommend.

The best brisket in the area! We love Berndt Ends. The owners make you feel like family, food is always fresh and beer is always cold! Our favorites are the beef brisket, collard greens and poppers! Check them out. You won’t be disappointed.

First time visit.. servers were friendly, and prompt. Ordered enough take out for 3 adults, and a child.. almost $80 worth. Ribs, brisket, pork, sausage, collards, crack mac, green beans, texas toast and cornbread. The meat was decent, but, ribs were overdone and dry. Sides were just this side of gross. “Crack mac” should be called “maybe pasta cheese paste”. I would have never served that to a paying customer. Pasta was literally broken down to a starchy paste. Family said the collard greens and green beans tasted fine. After the glop of mac/cheese, I didn’t want anything else. The sauces were good. Carolina style, should be like a vinegar based marinade, and it was. Mustard sauce was a little sweet, but, good. Family liked the sweet sauce. The “corn bread” was a micro corn muffin that tasted like it was made with hot sauce. Idk. Somebody should have said it’s not normal corn bread. Truly wish the food had tasted better.

Great brisket and sides. Tried all the sauces and each one was very good but the mustard was my favorite. Definitely will be back next time I am in town.

Pass by on the way out taking care of some business saw several law-enforcement vehicles there dining we assumed. Came back by. They were just starting to leave, and I could tell by the way they were rubbing their bellies and picking their teeth that they had stopped to eat so we turned around and went back because you always know it’s a good place if law-enforcement is eating there. We checked out the outside bar walked around and then were told there was inside seating and went to the inside. It was a nice pleasant area very clean nice clean restroom and Husband and the wife were working. Both came in to say hello and wait on us. I’ve had a lot of barbecue, but this rates right in the top with the best I’ve had, we will definitely be back and if you’re in the area you certainly need to check out this barbecue place.
