In 2003, Ben Dixon opened Chicora Alley restaurant and bar in Downtown Greenville with Caribbean South fusion cuisine and live music entertainment. His Falls Park restaurant became a local sensation. In time, he adjoined to the neighboring building. Increased space added seating and a second full bar. Families enjoy restaurant dining separate from guests attending weekly live music performances. Chicora Alley Downtown is a favored dive bar in Falls Park for private parties and event catering overlooking gorgeous Reedy River views. In 2018, Ben opened another location in Travelers Rest, giving Upstate South Carolina renewed testament to the Chicora Alley Restaurant and Bar chain success.

I am a photographer who was recently hired by Chicora Alley to capture content for their website. I got a good behind the scenes look at the kitchen and staff, and was really impressed! They don’t just offer the standard food, but really put forth effort to craft unique dishes that are delicious! The BBQ tacos are AWESOME and I really enjoyed the street corn! They also have a really good cream cheese enchilada! Great food. Great staff. Awesome energy.

Not my favorite place, the wings claim to be gourmet but they taste soggy. The sauce is real good I would have to say, and the service was excellent. We went on a Sunday night so maybe the A team wasn’t in the kitchen. I must say my wife’s grouper tacos where really good, and they had woodchuck cider, nice throwback

Came in tonight after having walked out from a restaurant around the corner that had terrible service. The hostess made sure we were taken care of by sending us complimentary chips and dips to our table as soon as we sat down. Then the waiter provided us the best service, checking on us frequently and making sure we were taken care of. THIS is what top notch service is! The bonus is the good food. What a wonderful experience. Definitely will be back!

This was a nice little jewel, tucked away at the top of a nearly hidden stairwell. The food was good, and the service was better. The server (maybe Dillon?) was new but did a great job. The atmosphere was fantastic. We may have to go back when they have music to check it out.

We went with family for our first time today and had a beautiful view of downtown at a seat near the window. Everyone was pleased with the food too, from kids meals to burritos, wings, and appetizers. Loved the flavors and quality! Also, A++ for customer service. We had to wait extra long for the kids meals. We never complained but the staff was proactive nonetheless and adjusted our bill as a thank you for waiting. We look forward to coming back!

We ate dinner here tonight. Excellent food. My wife had the jerk shrimp – I had the crab cakes – kids had a great cheeseburger / fries and the wings. Yummy. Kate was our server, she did a fantastic job. We also had the pleasure of meeting Ben the owner on our way out. Super nice guy. What a great place. Will be back for sure!!

Seriously some of the best food and service you will find around. I’ve been a couple of times after it was recommended to me. I walked in and immediately met with one of the friendliest bartenders I’ve had. Even though she was working on setting up the bar (I literally came in as they were opening the door), she took out time and gave me the low down on everything. I get my order, and I’m blown away by how good everything is! I about melted on my seat after eating their fried jalapeño peppers. My second trip was over the weekend. Again, it was the same story with a different cast. I walked in and immediately greeted a super nice and fantastic host. I got seated, and my server was exceptional. He was super helpful and made some great recommendations. I order and get my food, and I’m once again blown away by the flavor. Whoever is in that kitchen cooking gets five stars too! If you want delicious food with excellent service (at a stellar price, too), you’ve found the spot!
