I went here for dinner with a group of friends. A few of them got the standard mix and I got my own blend. There was only one person working since it was close to closing but she was phenomenal. Helpful and patient with all of us even though we had no idea what to do. She reminded me that leftovers are not good after about 12 hours too. It was really tasty if not something for those nervous about raw fish. I plan to go back soon.

It was slow when we went in and I have no idea why. The staff was super friendly, and the food was delicious. My wife has celiac, so having everything labeled gluten free or not was a huge plus! If you get the Cali classic, definitely try the spicy tuna.

Hoke Poke is a must go for all poke bowl enthusiasts in Central VA. The restaurant chain originated in Los Angeles and Richmond is their first east coast location (go RVA!). The space is well lit with cool LED light fixtures and has an overall industrial chic vibe.

Upon first entering the space, they have menus displayed on the wall but are also happy to give you a print out of the menu upon request (check out my pic!). They have a variety of chef signature bowls with preselected ingredients or you can build your own bowl. Sizes offered are small or large. My recommendation would be to go with one of the signature chef bowls on your first visit as it can be a bit tricky to make sure you get the flavors just right with the different sauces as there are lots of options.

So far, I’ve tried both the Cali Classic and the Salmon Mango Tango bowl. I have always gotten the small size as I think it provides more than enough food for a meal so I’m a bit surprised to see some feedback on the portion sizes being too small. The Salmon Mango Tango is my new go to and I absolutely love the balance of sweet and spicy. The fish is super fresh and all of the flavors are delicious. I can’t wait to go back!! I also love the boba tea options and the lavender lemonade.

I only wish we had a location closer to near west end or downtown where I work!

So happy to finally find a place in Central Va where I can get me some Poke. I did find that the large bowl may be a bit too large for me and it may also be a bit pricey. However, the quality of the ingredients matches the prices reasonably. I kind feel they need to add some brown rice as an additional option. Overall, a great experience enjoying my Spicy Tuna/ Salmon bowl. Very tasty and super healthy.

The surroundings are chain eatery style, and the concept is solid. Just choose your protein, fixings, and sauce, and they set you up. There are also some suggested options in case you’re new to poke. The food itself was very good and the service outstanding for the price. A great way to eat relatively healthy yet deliciously. I’d definitely visit again.

First time ever eating poke and I was pleasantly pleased. All of the bowl ingredients looked and tasted really fresh. The bowls are really filling and with the addition of boba tea and I was satiated for the rest of the day and good to go. Would recommend if you are looking for something new and tasty.

The components were generous as one might expect for the price. The tuna was fresh and beautiful! My daughter scarfed hers! If you enjoy Poke style bowl meals this is your place. Friendly and fast service from knowledge staff! Not a 5 because my preference would be to not mix everything together! 🙂

I had a horrible first experience with this location. It was my wife’s birthday and I asked her where she would like to eat. She immediately said “Hoke poke!” I got to the restaurant and called her to see what she wanted. She couldn’t remember as the first time she had gone was the week before and the gentleman who had helped her was very helpful and gave her a recommendation. The woman working seemed very annoyed with me as I was trying to figure out what bowl my wife wanted. We were the only customers there so it wasn’t because she was busy. Then she snapped at my 4 year old who was scrolling through the menu on the iPad setup in the lobby. Eventually she took my order and threw together the bowl. The food is delicious so I hope you stick around. Final straw was as we were walking out she herded us through the door, at 5:30 pm, turned and locked the door and walked off down the sidewalk.
