This restaurant was a recommendation for our company’s dinner party. The food varied in quality – really good cuts of steak, while the seafood wasn’t as fresh tasting as you’d expect even from a mountain restaurant. I ordered my NY Strip with the sauce on the side, only to have them bring it laid on top of the sauce. When they “fixed” it, it was simply by placing the steak onto a new plate. However the sauce transfer had already happened. Considering I didn’t enjoy the sauce, it essentially ruined the flavor of the steak for me.

Genuinely relieved to see another poor review from Thanksgiving on Open Table. The cloverleaf bread was good but it went downhill from there.
Not sure we’d be writing this if it weren’t $100 per person for a family of four. The chestnut soup tasted like a brown sugar gravy. The turkey was the wettest two slabs of white meat, we got a table-spoonful each of mashed potatoes and stuffing, & 5 cranberries.
The sorbet was good but just scooped into a bowl – pretty sure the menu said it came with fresh fruit or something, even a mint leaf on the plate might’ve convinced us we got what we paid for.
We’ve eaten at palace arms with their regular menu and have been impressed, the prixe fixe felt like a cash grab cafeteria.
Feel like we were robbed the opportunity to go somewhere else for Thanksgiving thinking Palace Arms was our best choice.
Service was fine, I think the chef had the holiday off.

Kayla, our first receptionist and best for the palace arms for our first visit. She was awesome brand new and so professional I give five stars to her, the smoke smell from the cigar bar right beside us is disgusting,. How can I say it smells? The smell of the cigar bar takes away from the great food at the restaurant, Our server Stephanie was amazing as well …. and Crystal did so many things so much running very appreciated from her and from all the staff but figure out the cigar smoke
Thank you, ladies for great service

I have been here twice now, for a prix fixe menu last summer and now Valentines day, the latter of which was a complete disappointment. We turned up for our reservation on time and waited 10-15 mins to actually be seated. Wait staff was great, but clearly slammed, as was the sole bartender next door in the Ships Tavern. The food was ok, but the menu was very sparse and it ultimately felt like a very poor value for what turned out to be an almost $400 meal for two. I think you can do much better for that price in Denver.

This was one of the best meals I have ever had. The service was outstanding, everything was very timely, and the atmosphere was very welcoming and warm. My party was larger and they were happy to make accommodations for us with no wait time. We were constantly checked on, by multiple waiters.

We were visiting Denver from the Cincinnati area and heard from many that the Palace Arms was a must! Upon arrival at The Brown Palace Hotel, we were delighted by the beauty of the lobby and enjoyed a few moments of the jazz combo playing before we entered the restaurant. The Palace Arms is steeped in history and the decor certainly reflected that! We started with a glass of Cava for me and an old fashioned for him along with the caviar and blini. A real treat! I ordered the salmon and the skin was perfectly crisp and delicious. His NY strip looked more like a filet very thick and boxy instead of long. He also had to send the steak back as he’d ordered medium and it arrived rare. Arrival of our first drinks took almost 30 minutes. We were told a server had called off. But our server did not charge for my Cava as an apology, and gave us a comp sherbet for dessert. The check came with two large and delicious chocolate truffles. Despite the bit of a service hiccup, we enjoyed the meal tremendously. I’d recommend for anyone looking for an elegant meal in a very interesting venue.

Celebration of our 35 wedding anniversary. It was spectacular. Great food service and atmosphere! Jazz ensemble playing in beautiful historic hotel. Our waiter brought us champagne on the house to help celebrate our anniversary. It was lovely! Will definitely do it again!

I cannot *believe* how much this place is charging. It costs $682 for 5 people to have dinner (that was with the tip already included on the bill), and given how many good restaurants there are in Denver, that is just absurd. The food was mediocre, but when you have such a high price tag for an entree, the expectations are just as high. There was a weird teriyaki-flavored sauce on the elk, the bison, and the shepherd’s pie? I think the cacio e pepe bites were stuffed with kraft noodles, just flavored differently. And the service was DREADFUL. We were constantly out of water and the entrees took forever to come out. We never even got to order a second round of drinks. There were hardly any other tables in there, so I have no idea what the wait staff (there were a LOT of them) were doing back by the kitchen. What a disappointing dining experience that was in celebration of my husband finishing grad school.
