An unusually warm winter day, I was looking for a downtown making restaurant to sit outside. I got turned away at one popular place, and then inquired at this jalapenos cantina, where I was told, sure sit outside wherever you want to. So I enjoyed a great evening on the sidewalk, watching people and cars do their thing. The service was top notch and personable, the food was good, and I would recommend!

You normally kind of know what to expect out of a Mexican restaurant and you leave happy but this far exceeded our expectations and we had a great time. The trivia after the meal was fun too.

I recently visited Jalapeños Cantina in downtown Macon and had such a fantastic experience! Blake and Jessica Fromwere awesome!!!! The moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with friendly service and a warm atmosphere — it felt like the perfect spot for a casual meal with friends. The food was delicious and served promptly, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Their signature chips and salsa were crispy and addictive, and the drinks — especially the watermelon margarita — were refreshing and perfectly balanced. The environment was lively and fun, with a great vibe that made our dinner even better. We’ll definitely be back!

Well to start off. When I walked in behind 5 guys they got sat and nobody returned to seat me or see if I wanted nything or not. I was ordering take out, only 4 simple orders. I ordered tacos, a salad, enchiladas and the house special, nothing altered or no special request. My total was over 70$ So I made my way to the bar. I was passed by multiple times. I finally stopped someone to take my order. He said they were busy it was going to be awhile but It still had empty tables, to me busy is a line out the door and no empty tables; lI sat for over a hour and it just seemed like I wasn’t wanted as a customer. Coming from Oklahoma, finding Mexican food that suits me has proven difficult. Today, Jalapeños Cantina changed that. This was easily the best Mexican I’ve experienced in the South East. The Enchilada Verdes had exactly the right kick. No notes. The Tamale, ditto. The house margarita, was also right on target.
My only notes would be on two items I have yet to see in this part of the country. The first would be offering the house cheese dip as a table dressing alongside an array of vegetables and tortillas. The second is a “dirty” glass of Mexican beer. The glass is frozen and dipped into a slush of lime. The beer is the poured as usual, with the accompanying slice of lime. It’s all in the presentation.
That said, I can’t recommend Jalapeños Cantina of Macon any more strongly. Spit out whatever you’re eating now, and come get some of this.

This may be my new watch the game spot. A nice drink and plenty of BiG screens for viewing the game on Saturdays. There is plenty of space for dining and mingling. You can enjoy it here with family, a date or alone. The bar is expansive with a complete offering of taps and top shelf liquor. They offer a complete drink menu. So, plz ask for it to help with your selection. My lady and I love the various choices offered for hot off the grill items. On this day I ordered The SUPER CHALUPA. I’m not sure if my spelling or theirs is correct. What I am sure of is that it was fully loaded and packed with flavor. On a tortilla shell was a bed of rice instead of beans. Ground beef, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, guacamole and tomatoes. In search of my hot and spicy taste. I added jalapenos and 2 cups of their specialty hot sauce. Boi was I on fire and loving it. 2 Budweisers helped Kool me off inside.
My FUTURE ordered the steak fajita. In her words;”This is far better than Mar*****’s”! Yes, even the salsa was a step above the rest. Everything is better here than there. They offer outside dining. Enjoy a day in the sun. Last but not lenot; The bathrooms. Clean and very well kept. .

Salsa and chips were flavorful and fresh, food was presented nicely, and staff was friendly and helpful.
I think it’s slightly more expensive than I’d like it to be, specifically drinks. It’s cheaper to eat and drink at most other establishments nearby.

As far as Mexican places in Macon go, there is much more flavorful and authentic out there for a lot cheaper. Jalepeños is not the worst, but I personally believe it is a bit overpriced and doesn’t provide as much satisfaction when compared to other options in the area.
