First time dining at Creole Soul. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Spoke with the owner/chef Hampton Isom. Very pleasant gentleman.
I enjoyed the catfish with red beans and rice, jalapeño hush puppies and my Glenlivet 12.
Everything was fresh, tasty and overall excellent.

Been here twice now, had a catfish & swamp (alligator, oyster, shrimp & catfish) baskets. We enjoyed our food both times, especially the catfish. Tasty sauces too! They have both inside & outside tables. We sat outside both times enjoying the sunshine (there is construction next door, but it didn’t bother us much). Glad we got this little place here in Des Moines!

Went there to support my friends band that was playing there. I ordered a Jamison Manhattan. It was one of the skimpiest pours I’ve seen but that wasn’t an issue. When I asked the price $28!!! That’s twice the price of the Space Needle let alone a Des Moines dive bar.

Edit: Heard from one of the band members that the insane prices had been adjusted. I made a return visit and the prices were reasonable, the atmosphere was quaint and comfortable and the music was great. I plan to return.

We came on a Sunday so it’s brunch. The catfish basket was so good. They also have bottomless mimosas I will be returning for. Full menu not avail today but I’ll be back to try the full menu next weekend. Got free beignets and shot glasses from a nice gentleman who I think is the owner. Definitely a cool vybe. Reminds me of the N.O. for sure! Music and all. ⚜️

It was a pleasure to meet the owner Hampton and the best bar tender in the area Ms. Cat. The food was delicious. Do yourself a favor…get the greens and the gator Bloody Mary. Enjoy

The staff and cook must have logged off after Sunday brunch, because what I got in the afternoon, was a crime for the price. That 20% mandatory tip hits different when your eating flavorless grits and rubbery shrimp. In addition to the 20%, they also overcharged on my entree outright. Menu stated 26, receipt read 31 before tax/tip. Left feeling scammed and still hungry.

Was there for Sunday brunch which offers a limited selection of their regular menu. But the selection they have is perfect for brunch, especially when they have mimosa with different flavors. Everything was good but the catfish is amazing! The drinks were perfectly made. The decor was fun and the staff was welcoming. I can’t wait to go back on a nice day to enjoy the outdoor seating area. So glad to have great cajan food here in the greater Seattle area.

Amazing Experience with Great Food, Service, and Live Music!

We had an incredible time at Creole Soul! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious—each dish was full of flavor.

One of the highlights was the live music, which created a wonderful atmosphere. We only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy more of it!

Overall, everything was top-notch, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend this spot!
