This is an amazing place in Claremont. It’s in a strip mall, but you would never know it once you step inside. They have live music every night, a variety of music. They serve wine and beer, no hard liquor. Which I think contributes to the chill vibe of the atmosphere. They have two bar tops and lots of table seating, as well as a couch seating area. But the most amazing thing is the food and service. Every dish is carefully prepared by their in-house chef. I had the garlic shrimp, and it was so delicious. The people next to me at the bar, had the salmon and the steak and said they equally thought the food was divine. They also offer brunch, which I have not tried yet, and have music at brunch. If you haven’t tried this place, I highly recommend you check it out.

Really a gem of a place. The food is excellent. Plated with intention and tastes amazing. Dianne has exceptional customer service. Also Damien works in the back but was really proactive and kept and eye on the floor, removing empty glasses. Beet salad was giant and delicious. Burger was juicy. French onion soup was perfect.

I can’t say enough positive about it this place, a true gem. I visited as a solo traveler in town for work. I loved it so much, I ended up visiting 3/3 nights of my trip, the last evening bringing a small group of colleagues! It’s truly the perfect mix of delicious food, atmosphere, and tremendous service.
First, the service: On my first night, the owners both came over and said hello to me at the bar and made me feel welcomed. As a solo visitor, I had plenty of time to observe and it quickly became clear that the owners had built a rapport and relationship with everyone who entered. I have spent the last year caretaking for an ill parent and, thus, haven’t been able to travel much. The way the owners went out of their way to ensure I had a positive experience brought me to tears. Thank you for creating such a beautiful, welcoming, kind space. This approach to service is equally embodied in the wait staff – my colleagues were equally impressed with the quality of service we received.
Secondly, the menu: Every bite was delicious. I had the charcuterie, Magnolia burger, and mushroom pasta. All were generous portions, crafted with care and quality ingredients. There were plenty of quality vegan and vegetarian options to meet my colleagues dietary needs. And the wine list is fantastic, with generous pours. There are also a few cocktail options – including an espresso martini!
Finally, the atmosphere: The live music was such a lovely addition to the experience. It was not too loud to interfere with conversation. The musical genre changed every night.
If you’re in the Claremont area – this is the place. A true gem and everything you would want from a night out. Thank you to the owners for such an amazing time!

I love when I find a place that just blows me away! Magnolia bistro checks all the boxes. Exquisite dining, wonderful service and an open and relaxing atmosphere. Food quality is exceptional and they used locally made products, feature local beers and have an impressive wine selection. They’re the only business open in the evening so there’s lots of parking. They have live music on the weekends and it’s a family on business. I look forward to coming back enjoying more of the menu items.

I came for the short ribs but was disappointed they weren’t available. The atmosphere is lovely, and the capellini I ordered was delicious (though I think it uses black olives). The house bread was good, but it should be complimentary. Our server, Diane, was sweet and attentive. I’ll be back to try the short ribs!

When we try new restaurants, we tend to order a little bit of everything. Our appetizers were amazing our drinks outstanding. Even the salad was fantastic!For the main course, I ordered a filet mignon. The sides were great, but the steak was so so salty. Something odd must’ve happened because for everything else to be so wonderful on that one piece of the meal was not edible. I didn’t send it back or say anything, but I sent the restaurant a message just to let them know, but I never heard back.
