It’s the kind of place where you can taste the difference—real mashed potatoes, slow-cooked gravies, hand-rolled dumplings, and vegetables that still have garden flavor. We keep things simple, wholesome, and full of comfort, because we believe food should be both nourishing and memorable. When you dine here, you’re not just a customer—you’re welcomed like family, with plates of fresh, homemade food that never came out of a can.

It’s an old building, dated. Didn’t make an ounce of difference. Our server was excellent. Probably the best onion rings I’ve ever eaten.
It was a bit of a wait since the place was packed, but the food was excellent. Everything was delicious, fresh, crunchy where it needed to be, and filling. We have never had such flaky, crunchy fried green tomatoes and the fried okra was terrific too. Meat was welldone just how we liked it and the eggs were perfectly fluffy. Compliments to the chef ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We’d go here again. Highly recommended restaurant if you’re looking for clean, fresh, homemade delicious American (cracker) food.
The other meal we got was a specialty “hurricane burger” with grilled onions and 3 fried pickle chips and came with a choice of potatoes. It tasted great but was VERY small for the price ($14). Would not have gotten the burger had we known how small it was. Was still hungry afterwards.
The sub total for our meal including a cup of coffee ($2.75) came to $34.90 and then we added a $5.24 tip bringing it to $40.14. We didn’t feel the specialty burger was worth the value but would try this place again because the service was great, the food is tasty and the other diners were friendly and talkative giving it the classic, good ol’ country feel.
