Our dinner was delightful. This might have been the best hot salmon dish I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of salmon. They were very accommodating about food allergies and it seemed everyone there personally and truly wanted patrons to have a happy experience. I also had a heavenly dessert wine (the Vignalta). My husband said his hanger steak was perfect. The food is beautiful on the plate but in a friendly way, not in a pretentious way. Everything seems geared to a cozy cheerful experience intended to satisfy rather than educate. That’s not to say there weren’t subtleties in the dishes, because there certainly were.

We wish we’d discovered this place ages ago and are so sad to hear the chef will be retiring soon. Of course he deserves a splendid retirement, but we’ll miss this restaurant!

Great supper club with an extensive wine list. Wait staff is experienced & knowledgeable; Most are long time employees. Ambience is quiet with a stylish decor, but can be a little noisy during prime hours. Fantastic food and you can catch a game while dining at the bar.

We come on our anniversary every year. Always good service and great food. This time we ordered drinks and they were just perfect! The hanger steak and cream of asparagus is my go to but they deffenatly have a variety of foods to offer.

Every experience is the same. Great, consistent food. Good service. Nice setting. Good bar. And John is usually there, working hard in the kitchen to maintain quality.

Top picks are the Chinese Chix Salad at lunch, Sole or Hanger Steak at Dinner. And try their Watermelon and Crab appetizer. They always make me feel as though I have had a great experience!

It is tough to find restaurateurs who take their business and guests as well and as seriously as John.

This is a jewel on the mid-peninsula. Both the decor and service are warm and inviting and the wait staff seem to have managed the miracle of being attentive but otherwise invisible. While not inventive the food is perfectly executed and above all very good to eat. It is a favorite spot to bring friends to – everyone loves it.

The best you can find in the SF Bay. Period. I have been there about 30 times in 8 years. Great food, decent prices (they ramped up a bit recently) and good service. Last time the bartender was a bit rude and that is why I put only 4 stars. Don’t forget to do a reservation.

Again one of the restaurants I usually don’t go. Because it’s too pricey. But I went there with my 3 bosses for lunch:) They invited me. They like fancy restaurants and fancy food and they often go here! The food was very good and it’s a nice restaurant! And of course good service!

Somewhat overpriced for unimaginative and prosaic cuisine. Could not taste the crab in the crab cake nor the cod. Did not like the traditional tartar sauce with the crab cake sandwich. The fries were too crispy and taste more like chips without potato flavor. Expected more from the chef.
