The great taste was completed with the fantastic pastries which were authentic Persian as well!
Absolutely loved everything! Highly recommend!
We came to Shandeez last year and the food was decent, which is why we decided to give it another try this year. Unfortunately, this visit was an absolute disaster from start to finish.
I ordered Koobideh, and it was shockingly bad. It had no koobideh flavor at all and, on top of that, it was served cold. Completely unacceptable. We also ordered Mast-o-Moosir, which was overly sweet and barely had any moosir in it. It tasted nothing like it should.
We ordered Chicken Soltani as well. The chicken was extremely dry, and the kabab barg was also dry, stale, and tasted old. This is not the quality anyone expects from a Persian restaurant, especially one with this reputation.
But the worst part was the billing practice, which honestly felt insulting. After paying with a credit card, we noticed a note on the receipt saying that if you pay cash, it’s cheaper because you don’t pay the credit card fee. So instead of pricing their menu honestly, they quietly charge customers extra for using a credit card. That is ridiculous, unprofessional, and shady.
Overall, the food quality has gone downhill badly, and the pricing policy is just plain stupid. This place has clearly changed for the worse. I will not be coming back, and I strongly recommend others think twice before wasting their money here.
Overall every thing was nice.
Food was amazing and came out fast. Persian dessert was delicious and all the food was generous portions and such delicious and juicy kebabs and rice was perfectly made. Service was wonderful and staff very friendly.
We were traveling from north part of US and searched for Persian restaurant and made a detour to try this place, so glade we tried it. Bathrooms were clean, and there was plenty of parking space.
Also, it’s attached to a bakery called Elisa Pastry, where we got macarons! Make sure to check this place out!!!
Naaah, Man, I hardly tried to ignore the update on my review but I couldn’t help it. This place disappointed again. Not to mention their absolutely ridiculous overpriced menu, but the size of their portion is still irrefutably small!
Imma be very honest with the owners and management of this restaurant, this is not a high-end restaurant and I think it isn’t quite smart to serve Persian food which is known for its large portions in a kids size portions, LITERALLY!
I personally would be there at least twice a month if the portion size would be decent size, but this time the flavor wasn’t just right either!
Also, during this visit we decided to try their TAHDIG (crispy rice with “some” stew on top.) appetizer plate, but OMG, you gotta be kidding me ! The size of Tahdig plate was unimaginably small for $13. Don’t take my words? Look for yourself in the picture. This is a scam. Now they would probably reply to this and say we would love to address this to the management and blah blah blah!! Please contact us via this email or that email and we will make sure that we will get it right next time YARA YARA YARA, but we all know that’s just a nice way to say your opinion is not important to us and we’re gonna keep doing what we’ve been doing! Whatever!
Anyway, now about the actual “food”; for the start they brought two old & cold pieces off pita bread, two little cube of feta cheese, and literally 2 of mint, and 2 piece of radish. I wish I could tell them hey don’t even bother to insult us with this kind of starter !!
Main dishes: The chicken kebab was very dry and unflavored. The Koobide kebob was extremely thin (probably not even 100 g of meat) and chewy. The rice was uncooked. No flavors whatsoever. I had to add salt, pepper, and every available spices on the table to get some flavors on my “Persian dish.”
VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING‼️
60.00 $ for two of the most simple and easiest Persian dishes ever.
If you are on diet and need a kids size food or a snack bar this is your place! Otherwise you better off spending your money and time elsewhere to get real decent (adult size) Mediterranean/middle Eastern food because this place is NOT an authentic one , let alone a Persian restaurant‼️
