I would have left aside the food wasn’t very good. But then there was a group of people that knew the bartender/ waitress. That we got kicked of the pool table for. That we were still enjoying ourselves on. That right there is enough for me to not come back. Your food was disgusting. The waitress staff wasn’t even welcoming. We came in and was told to sit wherever. But as soon as we sat we were told oh no there’s a party there. No guidance at all. The waitress was tipped very nicely and she returned the favor by kicking us off the table for her friends.

I had a very good time there there was a bartender on 1st shift that was very nice to me . She always made sure I was good . Aside from that I sat in a corner spoke on my phone and studied degree work in the corner there was a shift change . For whatever reason the bartender didn’t want me there didn’t like me and went as far to ask four different people that didn’t say a word if I’m bothering them . She went as far to calling the police on me also . Police came spoke to. Also realized I legit didn’t do anything. Aside from that petty Incident I had a great time .

I had scallops basket, husband had shrimp basket. Both seafood items were lightly beer battered and fried. Very yummy! After a redo on the fries, they were great. Waitress was nice and very friendly.

Only about a mile from the Bates campus, this spot is tucked in behind some other businesses. Luckily, some locals gave me a tip to stop by and I did. Completely unpretentious but absolutely perfect, this spot captured the essence of Maine. It’s a pub that is popular with locals, creating an authentic pub experience but the food is decidedly upscale while still consistent with the atmosphere. You can see how hard every single person was working to make sure that we had the best experience possible…from lobster rolls to simple salads, everything was perfectly executed and delicious. Can’t praise them enough for capturing the essence of Maine. Unpretentious, hard working, traditional Maine style without pretending to be anything else. Absolutely love this spot and it’s clear that there are a crowd of locals who have formed a loyal following. Use GPS and find your way to this hidden gem that captures the essence of Maine whether you’re a local or just visiting. It’s a must do for every trip to Maine!

The onion jam sliders were great. Super tasty N/A beer. Decent selection of N/A’s. Kudos. Service was excellent, and she was very patient with us chatting for a while after our meal. Definitely will be back.
