Love being able to get to them at lunch. Their brisket, the turkey and the sausage are our favorites. Nacho day is always worth going if we can swing it. The sandwiches alone are amazing and super tasty and filling. Why are you not there, go now!!!

today I stopped to grab some lunch…. I have been in the food business my whole life, the past 5 years restaurant supply specifically so I don’t wanna brag but I know a thing or two about BBQ… I judge every BBQ place on there Brisket so I got the Brisket sandwich. This was hands down the best whole slice brisket I have ever had, beautiful smoke ring, juice, tender and flavor ful, exactly how brisket should be. The sausage was just spicy enough with excellent smoke flavor. Sides were delicious, mustard based potato salad with huge chunks of just hard enough potatoes. Beans were not drenched in sauce… What a great Lil hidden gem, I will definitely be back…

I tend to have reservations when I comes to white people making barbecue, but the brisket sandwich was legit hella tasty. And huge! The baked beans were meaty with the same delicious smokiness, and the mac and cheese was fine. But the brisket y’all. It was amazing.

The sandwich and two sides came to $20+tax. The seating inside had two two tops and a four top, so it’s pretty limited but I got there at the perfect time to grab a table.

My wife and I stopped at the Lazy P BBQ for lunch, spur of the moment and we were very pleased. We shared a two meat brisket plate which came with two sides (we had macaroni and cheese and beans…very good). Food was great, we even ordered some macaroni and cheese for a party we were having that weekend. The service was good too, helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is okay, limited seating and tight but it was fine. We will visit again and recommend it to others.

Really impressed with the food, service, and atmosphere at Lazy P! This is a great spot to pick-up or grab lunch if you’re in Spring Lake or around the Lakeshore!

1) Food/Service: The best BBQ I’ve had in Michigan (and at a reasonable price!). The food came quickly and those running Lazy P were kind and considerate. They even shared some sausage they were smoking with us while we were chatting. Brisket was cooked well and had a great smoke line. There was good bark but it wasn’t tough. Also not overly fatty as far as brisket is concerned. It was not overcooked or dry. Sauce was stellar as well. My friend got a pulled pork sandwich the size of his face with pit beans that looked amazing! Corn bread was good, but the meats seemed like they were the star of the show here (which I prefer).

2) Atmosphere: The inside is a little crowded, but it was a cool oasis on a hot day! It was also well kept and very clean. Even with the small seating space, it made the experience feel more authentic – like this was a place that was about BBQ first and foremost.

This is the 2nd year we have used Lazy P’s to cater our State of the Company meeting and we will continue to do so every year! Hands down some of the best bbq around! People were digging in before I could even finish getting all the photos I wanted lol! Highly recommend the brisket and the Mac n cheese! And the sauces are so good!

We treat ourselves to this place when we can. You can tell they put a lot of hard work into their recipes and Jamie is wonderful at what she does, she is working all hours to make sure the Bbq is ready for us to enjoy. Every staff member has been very nice to us, and we have always had a good meal from here! We will be back! Pictures are Pulled Pork and Brisket Meal i like all their bbq sauces lol

Best BBQ on the Lakeshore! We enjoyed everything in our 3 Meat Platter but the big winner was the sausage. Pork and Brisket were great too! Carolina Mustard and Sriracha Honey sauces went well with everything and the beans and Slaw were classicly flavored and went perfect with the meats. We will be back for more! Definitely try this place out for lunch.

Great brisket. Great food. Great little spot!
I won’t lie to you and say this is the best barbecue I’ve ever had because it’s not, but this is a solid barbecue joint that will serve you some good meat, good beans, and good sauce. I didn’t try the sausage but it looks amazing.
I worked at an award winning barbeque in the southern United States in my early 20’s so I have done my rounds with BBQ competitions and tried many top tier BBQ’s.

This place here is solid. The baked beans have pulled pork in them and that is truly amazing!
The Mac and cheese is average at best.

The only negatives I can give them is they like to put mustard in the sauce which is simply strange and unnecessary. If some weird people want mustard on their barbecue sandwich they can ask for it. I really hope they aren’t putting any mustard in the rub.
Luckily they do have regular normal real BBQ sauce without any weird ingredients but you do have to ask for the normal sauce or they will put mustard on your BBQ and ruin it. They must have run into this problem a lot because they warn you about the mustard when you buy the food. They also put pickles on the sandwiches which once again is against the norm for good BBQ and unnecessary if the food is top tier.

Quality, BBQ doesn’t require any Gimmick ingredients in the sauce or on the sandwich. Many people do not like mustard or pickles So it’s strange that you would put them on sandwiches by default, forcing people to ask you to remove them so they can have a normal barbecue sandwich. If you genuinely believe that most people like Pickles and mustard on their barbecue then stock those ingredients put them on the menu and let them ask for them.

Great food!

Finding authentic barbeque can be difficult but this small restaurant is a hidden gem! If you’re looking for authentic Texas BBQ, look no further than Lazy P’s. The Brisket melts in your mouth and has tons of flavor. It reminded me of the best Brisket I’ve tasted in Austin TX. The ribs on Friday’s are also delicious and worth the trip if looking for a great lunch. The service and vibe in the restaurant is fun and makes you want to come back. We were just visiting on vacation but it was so good, we made a second trip back the next day!
