Start with the pork belly bao bao rolls. So yummy!
We ate the Korean Bulgogi bowl, the pork fried rice, and the Bang Bang chicken bowl. We loved them all.
First, the claim about the raw meat in the pho being a surprise is inaccurate. The menu very clearly states that certain pho options include raw or rare beef that cooks in the broth, this is standard at every Vietnamese restaurant. It’s listed directly under the pho section, and anyone familiar with pho knows that this is how it’s traditionally prepared. The restaurant isn’t hiding anything or serving unsafe food. They are serving pho the way pho is supposed to be served.
Regarding the to-go broth containers, the holes in the lid are intentional and are not a “compromised container.” Hot broth releases steam, and every pho or soup restaurant pokes venting holes so the container doesn’t explode or leak even worse inside your car. This isn’t unique to this restaurant, it’s basic food safety and packaging practice. If anything, NOT venting hot liquid would be a bigger hazard.
As for the up-charge for jumbo portions or fresh noodles, that is also clearly written on the menu. It’s printed right at the top where the noodle substitutions and size upgrades are listed. Anyone who has ordered fresh noodles or jumbo servings before knows these modifications come with a small additional cost. It’s not dishonest or random, it’s an optional upgrade that is transparently disclosed.
Regarding the missing fresh basil or lime, that part is understandable. Fresh herbs can run short, especially during busy hours or supply delays. Communication could have been better, but ingredient shortages happen at every restaurant.
The restaurant’s pricing, packaging, and food preparation methods are all standard, clearly explained on the menu, and consistent with Vietnamese cuisine norms. I’ve had consistently good experiences here, and it’s unfortunate to see misunderstandings presented as dishonesty. This place serves great food with huge portions, and the staff have always been kind and professional in my experience.
