We saw this place during the Chili Cook Off and put it “on our list” to try later. So, Friday, Nov 14 we popped in around 4 pm for a cocktail & pizza. We got the “New Haven” style, which is thin crust.
Server was pleasant and fast. The place was empty that early with just a couple other diners there. We just relaxed & soaked in the atmosphere which is an industrial-looking interior. There is a large room in back which I saw on my way to the ladies room. Huge bar back there with lots of “hang out” sections. It seemed like it would be cool to rent out for a party.
Their cheese pizza had a very tasty blend of mozzarella, parmesan and pecorino cheeses which were scrumptious together! To my astonishment, the pizza came out quickly (within 5-10 minutes of ordering) which was great! My Spicy Dough’ Rita & hubby’s Not Your Dads Old Fashioned cocktails were good. But, the pizza was SO GOOD we are going back today!

Awesome new place in town. We’ve been a few times already and have had a great experience. Great patio and also adjacent to the Backyard. Love the detroit style pizza and the unique toppings being offered. The hot honey and lemon were new to me but very good. Not sure why the bad reviews are out there – I think they may be missing the point of Detroit style.

Update 9/6/2025:
The crust styles have been renamed to “Thick Pan” and “East Coast”. There is a new cheese blend, which is delicious on the edges of Thick Pan style.

Update 12/22/2025:
Still great!

Noticed from some of the reviews, people complaining about not enough meat and toppings on the pizzas… That was definitely not the case with our experience! The pizzas were delicious with plenty of meat and toppings on them! Highly recommend the case of the meat sweats pizza! Appetizers were very good as well. Mixed drinks were strong and sweet, just like those should be. The spicy dough Rita and smoke and chill drinks were really good. Pricing was reasonable too, especially for a restaurant in downtown Wheaton. Awesome experience, will definitely be back again soon!

Dough is an interesting idea from the same minds that started 302 Wheaton, but instead of burgers, this restaurant serves pizza. The central idea is choosing between thin crust (East Coast) or pan (Detroit style) pizza. I like the variety and flexibility this creates.

When I went, I took my server’s recommendation and ordered a GOAT pizza on thin crust and a pepperoni with hot honey pizza in pan style. The flavors on both pizzas were excellent. I especially liked the goat cheese with fresh arugula and balsamic drizzle. However, I found the thin crust to be doughy and chewy rather than the crispy texture I was seeking. The pepperoni was a perfect example of a Detroit style pizza with the caramelized edges.

I went with my girlfriend and we were trying to decide if the pizzas were large enough to split or designed to be personal pizzas. I would say one pizza is good enough to share between two people; however, extra pizza also makes good left overs.

I also ordered their NoDo salad. It looked beautiful when it came out and I loved that the restaurant did not skimp on the most expensive part of this salad – the pepperoni. However, I found this salad to be way too salty. I don’t know how you fix this salad. Maybe add more mozzarella cheese or pair it with a sweet dressing?

Our waitress was amazing. She gave us good recommendations and was friendly. In the back room I think they have an event space in which they were doing a trivia night the evening I was there for dinner. Whatever was happening in the back was kind of loud and not the noise I wanted during a chill dinner.

We really enjoyed our first visit to dough. We tried the Detroit style and New Haven style pizzas and enjoyed both. The Sausage Pepper Parade Pizza tomato sauce tastes so fresh and light. At our table, the BBQ Pit Boss Pizza got rave reviews. The environment is fun with a vibe, the service was friendly and attentive and the food delicious! Tried an appetizer of Loaded Waffle fries and would order again.

Great addition to downtown Wheaton. We went during the week for lunch so not to many people which was nice. Service was fantastic and quick. The atmosphere was not inviting, I was digging the exposed brick walls but felt too open and not a welcome feel and the painted striped wall made no sense. I thought it could have had more Detroit style decor. We tried the Detroit pepperoni with hot honey and the New Haven margarita pizza. It was tasty but not my favorite Detroit. I did read other reviews and people mentioned that and the owner said it’s their own take which is cool. Definitely try it and support local!

Absolutely loved this place! The Detroit-style pizza is phenomenal. Crispy edges, chewy crust, and loaded with flavor. Just delicious. You can tell they’ve put real care into getting it just right. The atmosphere is lively but comfortable, perfect for watching the game or catching up with friends. The staff is outstanding. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and on top of everything without being overbearing. It’s rare to see a new spot hit the ground running like this, but they’ve nailed it. Can’t wait to come back!

Dough is exactly what Wheaton needed. Incredible pizza (both New Haven and Detroit styles are top-tier), and their gluten-free Detroit style is shockingly good – check the pics for the one with the gluten labeled stick. The wings are seriously some of the best I’ve ever had.

The vibe is warm and family-friendly with a super attentive, personable staff. With 11 TVs, it’s a legit sports bar, and the attached Backyard space with drinks and live music makes it a perfect hangout spot for sports or entertainment after dinner.

Great food, great people, and finally, a great pizza spot and place to catch all the best live games right in the heart of downtown Wheaton.

I go once a week and have enjoyed everything I’ve ordered so far!

A Slice of Perfection! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dough is an absolute local treasure! The warm and inviting atmosphere, paired with friendly staff, made for an instantly welcoming experience.
The pizza truly steals the spotlight! I tried the BBQ Chicken (aka Pit Boss) in Detroit style, and it was phenomenal. We also sampled the Pepperoni and a mouthwatering Hawaiian topped with Canadian bacon, both crafted in the delicious New Haven style. For a little extra indulgence, we enjoyed their savory queso and a crisp Caesar salad – a perfect complement!
With an extensive selection of toppings and options for dietary preferences, Dough caters to everyone. The prices are more than fair, especially given the generous portion sizes and top-notch quality.
If you’re on the hunt for scrumptious pizza served with genuine warmth, make sure to check out Dough. I can’t wait to go back! ❤️
