El Coyote Tacos is an experience. Nestled in downtown Vancouver, WA, it’s newer to the neighborhood.
The restaurant is located next to a local brewery in a very small location with an ajoining courtyard. The courtyard holds the majority of their seating.
The bar is limited. “Full bar” is a stretch, but they have a few options outside of beer and a marg. I’m not a fan of margaritas, they were able to scrounge up something for me.
Their food is good. Let’s start there. Flavor, they’re solid. However, their tacos are the absolute greasiest taco I’ve ever eaten in my life. We all had to ask for extra napkins, twice.
Price is fine, their tacos are large. I’m all about supporting local – give El Coyote a try and let’s hear your thoughts? Looking forward to seeing them succeed long-term.

Excellent food with very friendly service, on a large patio with covered seating. Indoor seating available as well. Tried all the tacos and the fish taco was the best of all for us. Great fresh flavors and spice levels. Homemade salsa and hot sauce was very good and went great with our food. They have beer and liquor available along with custom drinks. Local gem.

The place looks great & the customer service was excellent. However, their vegetarian taco is honestly, not even being mean, possibly the worst taco I’ve ever had. It was basically pico de gallo in a wrap. It’s sad because I really wanted to like it too & the server was kind. I would really love a genuinely good taco without meat but for some reason this seems to be a struggle to find in Vancouver. Why?!

We went last weekend and had the carnitas and pork adobo tacos and burritos, plus chips and guac—and of course, margaritas! Everything was tasty and filling.
They’ve just opened (in the spot where Chili Fox used to be) and offer a great selection of Mexican and local beers. With sunny afternoons ahead, their patio will be the perfect spot to relax. They also offer takeout.
It’s a family-owned place, and the owner, Fernando, is super welcoming. We had a lovely time—thanks again!

So far this is my 2nd favorite fish taco in all of Portland and Vancouver. Nice big plump juicy battered fish with just the right amount of batter. Really good sauce on it. I think this fish taco is slightly better than the “little” place around the corner.

Amazing service and even better food! I got the carnitas and pork adobo tacos. Both were so flavorful and tender. The portions are huge.
Moving on to the margaritas, I love a place that doesn’t use premade mixer. He makes his own mix from juices and you can definitely tell.

First time at El Coyote tacos y tequila and Ill definitely be going back. Owner was extremely nice and the food was fantastic. Had some of their guacamole to start and was very tasty. Freshly made at the restaurant. I had a pork adobo burrito and the people I was with had the pozole. Everything was great. They also have a great outdoor seating area when the weather heats up a bit.

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican tacos, this is the place to be. We’re from LA and went in with high expectations. Everything we had, carne asada, carnitas, cochinito, and fish tacos, and pork adobo burrito, were OUTSTANDING! Make sure you try the house margarita made with blood oranges. It’s one of the best I’ve ever had and it’s a steal at < $10. It’s also right next door to Vice Beer so super convenient when you’re feeling the munchies. This will be our regular Mexican restaurant going forward.

Loved this place! Food and drinks were good. I got the fish and shrimp tacos. Drinks were strong. They were kind of messy to eat since they were so big but really tasty! This is a very kid friendly place. Lots of area for kids to play and they supplied bubbles and chalk.

Great taco spot – wow – the protein is amazing. Their pork and carne asada tacos.
Their house tequila is good also! And I’m not generally a tequila fan.
They’ve done great things with the place. Love the touches to the patio.
If you’re looking for a new taco spot – this is it!
