Ordered lunch takeout, very good. Chicken was good quality, and dumplings were tasty too. The best part was the fried rice. Lots of Chinese places give you that yellow bland tumeric rice, this was real fried rice and very good. I will definitely be returning.

Pearl of the Orient is our go to Chinese restaurant. Their Gen Jan Shrimp and also their Crispy beef are amazing. Their twice cooked pork is so tender and delicious. Great food and good portions with an emphasis on fresh vegetables at a reasonable price. We like their Hot and Sour soup. Ask for their home made crispy noodles to go with it. ( not on the menu but a well known secret)

Potentially the worst General Tso’s Chicken I’ve ever had in my life. I normally don’t find myself writing reviews online at all. But this is that one time that I had to write a review.
No flavor at all in the sauce. Has the flavor and consistency of water. More steamed vegetables that they toss in there with the sauce than chicken in the combo platter that they serve.
You know it’s also a sad shame when the flavor in the fried rice is more intense than the main dish itself. Nothing to write home about as well for the rice. Just bland, flavorless; sort of like a reflection of the overall meal.
Just a bland, sad dish. Not worth it at all for the price/how much food you get compared to other American Chinese restaurants in the region. Save your $12.50 and go somewhere else.

Good food at a good price 🙂 the staff were nice and the chef was sweet she brought out a soup for me in only a couple minutes because I realized I forgot to add it to my pickup order when I placed the call. Cute patio seating area out front but there’s actually a decent amount of seating inside too.

Disappointed to arrive and find that they were only take out. I had hoped to eat in. Still, the food was tasty.

New to Albany and wanted a Chinese soup and dinner. After a few reviews picked on Peral of the Orient hot and sour soup and Szechuan chicken were to the point. Slightly different seasoning but none the less both the hot soup and the chicken hit home. May have got our go to Chinese in Albany.

Outstanding take-out! Food specialties always hot, fresh, full-of-flavor! Roast pork chow mein, fried rice combination plate exceptional and price most competitive. “Doc Pete”

Ordered veggie chow mein and got a container of veggies with no noodles, none, how is that even possible?

Although the order was ordered for over an hour they were prioritizing their regular customers. When i asked whats the status of my order they then started making it. Everyone should be treated the same whether regular customer or new ones

Portions are large. Veg lo mein was a bit dry and very few vegetables. Combo platters all had the same taste and color even though they were all supposed to be different.
