First time in SLO and decided to check this shop out, did not disappoint. Love this shop!!! Super good food & drinks! Their breakfast burrito was sooo good! Yo I was in heaven!
Will need to come back and try out other food items available here. They also got this jar where they can help you decide on a drink if you’re indecisive like myself. Love the vibe. It’s also attached to its brewing company I think it’s also a brunch shop. Super cute.
Friendly coworker who took our order!

Very conflicted review. The staff is so nice, they’re all very kind and attentive. The coffee is great not super bitter. The shop itself is very nice and clean but the food is where I’m extremely dissatisfied. Their food used to be SO good. But recently it’s gotten REALLY bad. This time I got the avocado toast. This is usually a safe thing to get as it’s hard to mess up avocado and bread but when I took my first bite I nearly spit it out. I’m not sure what they do to the bread but it tasted like it was deep fried 3 times in week old oil. My fiancé got the breakfast burrito and was also disappointed by it. It was overly greasy and barely had any bacon. I’ll come back for the coffee but I think I’ll stay away from the food from now on.

This place is the worst place i’ve been to in SLO. We payed so much money for a very terrible experience here. The “morning bowl” was literally a burnt scrambled egg with a side of tater tots and soggy toast… and then the waitress had the audacity to give us attitude and be all upset when we asked if it was possible to get a refund or have it remade. It was absurd — absolutely nothing was good. The chicken and waffles was literally chicken tenders—microwaved and crappy not home made waffles. The coffee wad also over sweetened and weak. the chai tasted like pure caramel syrup with oat milk.

This is my go-to weekly spot for a delicious avocado breakfast burrito and vanilla latte. I travel frequently and as a fan of breakfast burritos I constantly compare to my fav at Libertine–literally none compare. The entire staff is always lovely as well.

Their coffee bar located at 1240 Broad St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 is a good place to grab a quality, well priced breakfast in San Luis Obispo, CA.
I usually get the Croissandwich, a big croissant with eggs, cheese, onions, tomato and avocado, hold the tomato for me. It’s a big sandwich. They may use up to three eggs.
Oh, their drip coffee is also good.

I clearly caught this coffee shop on an off day especially based on previous reviews. I did not order the burrito and since there was only one person working, I ordered just a latte and an oatmeal. I threw the out meal out and I wound up tossing the coffee too and walked to another shop instead.
The good news is that Libertines is very clean, the decor is great and the guy working there was fabulous. The other people stopping in were obviously locals so that is a good sign as to quality of restaurants.
Despite the one miss, I’ll certainly try this spot again when back in SLO.

I love this place. The cold brew is a 4/5. The breakfast burrito is a 5/5, deliciously balanced flavors and textures, and it’s Chipotle-sized. Chill, focus vibes, 6 intimate little tables, and dynamic decor (largely by local artists).

A moan of ecstasy escapes my man’s lips as the girthy vegan burrito leaves his mouth. He doesn’t know what’s in it, but the pop of magnanimous chorizo made from the slaughtered unmeats of some sort of ensorcelled vegetable proteins puts him
in a trance of abject surprise and quiet contemplation of the numinous.
While he zones out into a tasty oblivion, I sip some somewhat lackluster black drip. Drinkable to be sure, a world above motel or McDonalds breakfast swill, but not the “3rd Wave” Ethiopian or single origin brew from Bali that’ll knock your socks off if you’re looking for that sort of thing.
The open face avo toast was a spicy treat atop some chunkily mashed avocado and an over easy eggness. A filling way to break fast.
They have pastries, day-olds, and free wifi in a small space with lots of air flow. Friendly staff. Would recommend.

The environment at Libertine coffee bar is smooth and inviting. Staff are polite and fast. Coffee is great too, not just the same old cup from the same old places, its extremely hot (which for some reason is hard to find these days), full bodied flavor, and they have a great food menu, with delicious breakfast items, as well as options for rest of the day. Also have good selection of tea and baked goods. Nice indoor/outdoor seating. Clean and open vibe inside.
