Reviews
I’m a truck driver from Tennessee and end up here occasionally, and always make a bunch of friends. Not sure what some other reviewers are talking about with weird vibes or unfriendly people? Everyone seems great to me!
For record reference this happened on Oct 14, 2024 and this whole situation was recorded for multiple people and my persona.
I truly hope this situation not get worse or repeatedly because the Regular’s friend and new clientele with refugees to come back. Also for the record this was my second time coming, first time was similar situation. Same person giving attention to the clientele that is a different story for another day whom the people to concern about customer service, outcome resolution and marketing & the owner.
Feel free to reach me out, for more reference. TIA
As for karaoke nights, it’s no secret there’s an inner circle. If you’re not part of it, good luck. Despite signing up early and showing up ready to contribute to the night, I’ve consistently been pushed back or overlooked. It’s hard to ignore when the same familiar faces keep rotating through while others wait endlessly.
The karaoke host (yes, you know who you are) makes it clear who’s in and who’s out. If you’re confident, talented, or don’t “fit the clique,” don’t expect fair treatment. Some people protect their spotlight at the expense of others — and that’s exactly what happens here. It’s unfortunate, because karaoke should be about building a vibe, not gatekeeping one.
It’s no wonder the place was dead last Saturday. Places that don’t grow community eventually lose it. I’m speaking up not out of hate, but because I believe people deserve to know the truth — and Rockwall deserves better than what this spot currently offers.
There’s something deeply wrong with the culture at Rockwall Tavern — especially on karaoke nights.
I’ve tried multiple times to give this place a fair chance. I even brought a friend recently, hoping maybe things had changed. Instead, we were met with the same cold, gatekeeping attitude — and it went even further this time. Not only were we not allowed to sing, but I personally became the target of inappropriate comments from the mic, aimed at embarrassing or discouraging me.
Let’s be honest: there’s a gang-like mentality here. If you’re not part of their inner circle, you’re treated like an outsider — and if you’re from California, forget it. I’ve witnessed heckling aimed at people based purely on where they’re from. It’s petty, unprofessional, and it pushes away the very kind of diverse, creative energy that could make a karaoke night great.
I don’t say this lightly — I’m a professional musician who supports local scenes and other performers. Karaoke should be inclusive and fun, not controlled by a clique trying to protect their own spotlight by keeping others silent.
Rockwall Tavern could be something special — but not until they address the toxic behavior they allow to thrive week after week.
