Awesome place! Prices were very reasonable, great drink selection, a bunch of good whiskeys. The homemade fireball was fantastic. Very cool vibe inside with lots of cool areas to hangout and a great patio.
I’m a truck driver from Tennessee and end up here occasionally, and always make a bunch of friends. Not sure what some other reviewers are talking about with weird vibes or unfriendly people? Everyone seems great to me!

I have dropped in several times to give this establishment the benefit of the doubt not wanting to fire off a knee-jerk-half-ass criticism unfairly. As many reviews have pointed out this place is very cliquese. Not overly welcoming to new faces and that includes both the staff AND the patrons. Food is pretty much base level bar grub. If you are coming for the so-called Karaoke nights don’t expect much better. Sound system is far below average and very bass heavy and the vocal mic is so far down in the mix you have to scream at the top of your lungs to be heard. If you are any level of vocalist beyond the regular drunk who wants to gift the world with his special version of Sweet Child of Mine, Freebird or Tush this ain’t your bag. If you are looking to showcase your voice or just to enjoy singing and know how to work with dynamics and subtleties you are seriously in the wrong place. Don’t even get me started on the two dozen Outlaw Bikers who act like they own the place. NEXT

The lady at the bar is completely disrespectful and have the worst attitude possible to the clients, she doesn’t care about this place or even her job. Waiting over 45 min to wait for my order. She totally ignored the fact and get rude and threatening to call the police. I remark that I was aware that people get drinks before me and also the time frame to start getting her attention on dis-attendances on my order. I was happy to spend time with my friends during there’re pool tournament because that is what this place is famous for. She yelled at me asking me to leave, I replied came here with my friend that actually playing so if I leave that means my friends also going to leave in the middle of there tournament so i refused to leave and apologized to the people who’s not my friends from the game I wait 20 min to get in touch with management and nobody showed up within that time the lady bar turn up the AC 65 degrees in order to make people uncomfortable about how cool the place was.
For record reference this happened on Oct 14, 2024 and this whole situation was recorded for multiple people and my persona.
I truly hope this situation not get worse or repeatedly because the Regular’s friend and new clientele with refugees to come back. Also for the record this was my second time coming, first time was similar situation. Same person giving attention to the clientele that is a different story for another day whom the people to concern about customer service, outcome resolution and marketing & the owner.
Feel free to reach me out, for more reference. TIA

4 pool tables. Surprisingly, ornate booths. Sofa and oversized chairs in a comfortable conversation area. Large stage and big dance floor.

Stopped in to play some pool. Didn’t see it early enough, very dark, there was tobacco and a gum wrapper in my beer. This place is disgusting.

They don’t serve food here so no rain for that I think possibly some snacks or something. Drinks are always on point, atmosphere is fun karaoke on Friday nights. It’s our favorite local dive bar hole in the wall.

I’ve given Rockwall Tavern more than enough chances, but the vibe has been the same every time: cold, unwelcoming, and dismissive — from the bar staff all the way up to ownership. It’s never felt like a place that values new faces or fresh energy, and that’s a missed opportunity.

As for karaoke nights, it’s no secret there’s an inner circle. If you’re not part of it, good luck. Despite signing up early and showing up ready to contribute to the night, I’ve consistently been pushed back or overlooked. It’s hard to ignore when the same familiar faces keep rotating through while others wait endlessly.

The karaoke host (yes, you know who you are) makes it clear who’s in and who’s out. If you’re confident, talented, or don’t “fit the clique,” don’t expect fair treatment. Some people protect their spotlight at the expense of others — and that’s exactly what happens here. It’s unfortunate, because karaoke should be about building a vibe, not gatekeeping one.

It’s no wonder the place was dead last Saturday. Places that don’t grow community eventually lose it. I’m speaking up not out of hate, but because I believe people deserve to know the truth — and Rockwall deserves better than what this spot currently offers.
There’s something deeply wrong with the culture at Rockwall Tavern — especially on karaoke nights.

I’ve tried multiple times to give this place a fair chance. I even brought a friend recently, hoping maybe things had changed. Instead, we were met with the same cold, gatekeeping attitude — and it went even further this time. Not only were we not allowed to sing, but I personally became the target of inappropriate comments from the mic, aimed at embarrassing or discouraging me.

Let’s be honest: there’s a gang-like mentality here. If you’re not part of their inner circle, you’re treated like an outsider — and if you’re from California, forget it. I’ve witnessed heckling aimed at people based purely on where they’re from. It’s petty, unprofessional, and it pushes away the very kind of diverse, creative energy that could make a karaoke night great.

I don’t say this lightly — I’m a professional musician who supports local scenes and other performers. Karaoke should be inclusive and fun, not controlled by a clique trying to protect their own spotlight by keeping others silent.

Rockwall Tavern could be something special — but not until they address the toxic behavior they allow to thrive week after week.
