Ordered an ackee and saltfish meal, asked for little to no oil to go into my container… Their ackee on display is SATURATED WITH OIL. While I was walking with the meal, the oil permeated through the bag and oiled my coat. The oil was literally EVERYWHERE. I was walking home and was so embarrassed that I ended up taking a cab. This is very unacceptable. Very sloppy job. Every time I try to give this place another chance, I get disappointed again. I will not be going back. Ruined my coat, smh. Ridiculous. It turned me off so much that I didn’t even eat the food.

Very flavorful food. The food here tastes home-cooked. It is well-seasoned and flavorful and well-prepared. We tried the king fish dinner – seasoned to perfection, excellent texture. We also tried the spinach patties. These were the best I’ve had in years – very flavorful spinach (nice bit of scotch bonnet) and it was not mushy or soggy. Nice spinach-to-crust ratio. The crust was very nice. Crispy and hearty with good flavor. Great customer service.

If you’re on the fence, this Golden Krust location is definitely worth a visit… especially for breakfast and lunch. The food is fresh and the woman working the morning hours (maybe afternoon too) is kind, delightful and personable. I hope they remain a mainstay…lol I think that’s the word, with all of downtown New Ro changes. I’ve enjoyed every breakfast and lunch I’ve had. The food also travels well. In the past, I’ve taken it to work and heated it up for lunch.

10/22/2025 was at work craving some Jamaican food. I don’t live in New Rochelle and If I did this restaurant would be the last restaurant I eat from. Horrible and sour food i ordered my food on door dash curry chicken white rice and cabbage .. it wasn’t fresh food at all . I started eating then I started to smell something I put my nose a little closer it was the food smh so sour and spoiled.. i didn’t want to make any accusations so I put the food back in The brown and paper bag and brought it home by the time i got home when I took it out you could smell it through the bag. Bad for business and most definitely lost me as a customer and I was a first time customer at that . I did call and I spoke to a guy who answered the phone and of course it was im sorry bad customer service. So if you do decide to eat here check and smell your food before eating food hazard ☢️ ⚠️

I wanted Jamaican food and something quick so I went to Golden Krust and ordered the brown stew chicken because they were out of the jerk chicken. The foodwas disgusting. Wasted funds, would most likely never return to tht location.

This is my favorite breakfast spot. Wednesdays and Fridays are my usual days because they serve okra (Wednesdays) and cornbeef (Friday’s). The staff are always nice, whether i am getting breakfast or dinner. I haven’t been disappointed in the service or food yet.

Everything is absolutely nasty. Instead of them hiring a real chef, they hire someone a family member perhaps who dont know how to cook. Eat at your own risk here, as a reminder we dont know how clean the bathroom is. The man that’s always there has a nasty attitude cause he ran out of bleaching cream.

I am HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. I was craving oxtail and decided to give the Golden Krust a try (it is literally around the corner from my job). I ordered a small oxtail, peas & rice with cabbage) which came to basically $22. So I’m thinking since the prices are over inflated, AT LEAST I’m about to eat some good food! The oxtail had absolutely no flavor, no gravy, no spice! Just bland with a lot of oil! Absolutely the worse, non-flavored oxtail I ever tasted in my 34 years on Earth! I did not enjoy my food at all. I wasted my money and also had to buy lunch from somewhere else.
