Splendid little down home locals style “blue plate special” café. I don’t see what’s not to like here. The owner is a very sweet gal who obviously cares a great deal about what she turns out of her kitchen and that her customers are completely satisfied and treated well. Our young waitress was swert and attentive while still learning. The food is delicious and not dumped from a can or dime a dozen frozen stuff. Nothing fancy here, just solid family pleasing foods like mom or grandma would turn out. The proportions were generous, fresh, and flavorful. At the same time, pricing was very fair – – an overall bargain all things considered nowadays. Visit here assured of a very safe bet you’d happily come again.

One room has a nice view of the New River. We were surprised how extensive the menu was. Of course I had to get fries in Fries. Yes the fries were very good. Fast service and a friendly waitress. Good prices.

As a level 8 guide I have reviewed lots of places. I very seldom leave a bad review. But this place was one of worst experience I have had in a long time. The service was so bad we decided to do take out order. The place was empty, maybe a reason for that. My burger was inedible. It was soggy and did not taste like any kind of meat. I think it was boiled and sat around all day. I threw it away. Most of the staff did not seem to care about anything. It’s a shame, it ruined our night.

We are locals and definitely not one to leave a bad review for places here, because we love to support our local businesses. However, this was the first and last time we will be eating here. Our fries were not done, barely heated enough not to be froze, and the burgers were very disappointing. Frozen patties, no real burger and definitely nothing to talk about. I would be embarrassed to send food out like we received. We do not recommend eating here.

They had the BEST beef tips, with mashed potatoes and fried okra. Excellent service and the water view is spectacular!!!

Went here due to the wonderful reviews and the location right off the river… Let’s just say it’s not worth it. The Philly steak tasted like it was microwaved and not seasoned. For the price of 7.50 I would at least expect salt and pepper. And don’t get me started on how many hush puppies I got… Overall if you plan to visit here for the location and scenery bring your own food.

Neat little diner on the James River (I think). Got the Dam Burger and it was incredible. Best burger I’ve had in a while. Servers were all friendly and helpful.

I went there for lunch and ordered the Ex-Stream Burger with onion rings as a side. The burger was cooked to perfection and very juicy. The cheese, sauce, and jalapeños were the perfect amount of spice. The service was great and the waitress kept asking and refilling my iced tea before the glass was half empty. The onion rings were crispy with a tasty batter, maybe beer batter. Prices were extremely reasonable. I will be back!

My buddy Mike and I arrived here by motorcycle after riding over 2 1/2 hours. It was 40 minutes before opening time on a Wednesday morning. We were in sore need of food, beverage and bathroom, not necessarily in that order. The lovely owner was kind enough to open for us – WOW! Our meals were fresh and delicious, the setting was beautiful, the whole experience was sublime!
