First you have to wrestle with the scotch tape holding your napkin around your silverware. But once you have accomplished that, everything is good.
The service was excellent, and the food was a little better than average, but definitely made with fresh ingredients and care.
This Thai restaurant is at the busy intersection of Leverington Avenue and Ridge Avenue. Parking is free after 6 PM on the street.
Amplevseating was open to us and there was a steady takeout business. The decor is definitely all Thai themed with a lot of decent art and the obligatory Buddha statue. I guess you could call the gift shop with jewelry, skirts, scarves, etc. part of the decor as well.
Portions were generous, despite what some other reviewers have said.
A nice surprise came at the end when they offered us Ube icecream and real mango ice cream, not a sherbet, for dessert.

khao soi was something that i had often growing up, so it was so wonderful to be able to have it here! the mango juice is fairly sizeable for $7 (i feel like many places give you a far smaller portion for $5-6), and the fried tofu is good. i think one reviewer commented that they were tasteless, but i fear that’s just what tofu tastes like until it absorbs or is dipped in a sauce! a bit of a smaller portion but definitely nice and crispy with the classic peanut sauce.
have dined in person and ordered delivery through doordash, and both experiences were great! maybe i’m just missing thailand, but the decor definitely gave a thai feel, like a small restaurant in a market. i feel lucky to have a nice restaurant like ban bamboo in the roxborough area!

I ordered take out and It was absolutely delicious! I had been craving spicy, flavorful, and authentic Lao/Thai food, and Ban Bamboo delivered exactly what I needed. The staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful, making sure everything was just right. I’ll definitely be ordering again!

This neighborhood Thai restaurant is a real find. The décor is simple, but the food truly stands out — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can tell the chef values quality ingredients and authentic taste.
The staff is friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. It’s a comfortable, down-to-earth place that delivers consistently great food. A solid choice for anyone who enjoys good Thai cuisine without the fuss.

Best crab Rangoon of my life! The wrapper was thin and crispy, filling was perfectly flavorful and came with this unique sweet and slightly spicy dipping sauce. And the customer service was excellent

It was a soup night. Two lemongrass soups, I drank the red spicy one and gave.a dear friend the white one. We loved the the serving size, the price and the flavors, I would have preferred a bolder lemongrass taste over the spicy. The best green veggie dumplings

They sell clothing and jewelry in this small spot, $2 feet to use your credit card! Food is moderately priced. Take out menus have the wrong prices on then with a sign that says prices up. I think the wording here is this place is cheap and probably on its way out at some point

Everything i try is my new favorite thing! I love the different cultural influences that are a part of Thai food. The food is delicious! My first time hanging Thai food was here. I am going in November so I enjoy an authentic sneak peak of what’s to come! So glad they’re in the neighbourhood!

Delicious food! Good prices (they’re all about $2 higher than the pics of the menu posted here a year ago). Great service – very friendly and attentive; they kept refilling our waters after we overestimated our spice tolerance and ordered a dish that was too spicy for us (and we have a pretty high spice tolerance so they’re keeping it real)! Very cute interior.

We went to Ban Bamboo for dinner and had a mediocre experience. We had the fried tofu appetizer, which was the standard, flavorless frozen tofu triangles. Would not get again. For my main, I had green curry, which was the consistency of soup. I have never had a curry that was so thin. My photo doesn’t do it justice… I wish I had taken a video. The flavor was pretty good but it was hard to enjoy after dumping rice in to try to get it to a consistency that I could eat. My husband had the spicy noodles, which I tried, and they had a nice flavor.
