Don Chicken is a franchise with locations all over north Jersey, but my first visit was to this one in Ramsey.
Placing an order is a cinch, whether through their native site or through most third party delivery apps. I placed a scheduled order in advance through DoorDash and ran into a little confusion because all the doors that seemingly lead to the restaurant were locked. After looking more carefully at the signage posted outside, I learned that I had to pick up the order at the bakery counter next door. And heading inside, the guys at the counter knew I was coming and waved me in encouragingly. Apparently, this Don Chicken operates more as a ghost kitchen that shares space with said neighbor. It felt slightly odd to pick up Korean fried chicken from a cafe but all went well afterwards. They even had cutlery available when I asked. I imagine if I’d opted to dine in, I could’ve dug in at any of the cafe’s plentiful tables.
The actual fried chicken is fantastic. I bought it as my offering for a nearby group event so it’d chilled a little by the time it was served. Even served lukewarm, the chicken went over famously with the group. It managed to retain some of the original crunch, and the taste of the soy garlic sauce was fantastic. I ordered the boneless wings, and I was pleased to find good, hearty chunks of white meat inside the tenders. I also ordered a tteokbokki, which was a smaller serving than I would’ve liked but complete with rice cakes, fish cakes, and a hardboiled egg. The spice levels were tolerable for even some of the spice babies and those uninitiated to Korean food in our group.
This Don Chicken is part of small complex that has a decent parking lot attached, making for super easy pick ups.

I was really interested to try this place when I saw it opened and really enjoyed it! The staff was super nice and friendly and the food is really good overall. It’s all takeout and my food was cooked fresh and was hot. The portions are really good for the price and the flavors were excellent. I had the ppurings and soy garlic chicken and I have no complaints at all I’ll definitely be returning

The chicken and breading are great and the food was cooked well. We got the spicy soy garlic boneless and (non spicy) soy garlic drumsticks. They both are good and generously portioned but have almost no sauce on them bringing the rating down. Comparing my photos to those of the menu and other restaurants with similar offerings the lack of sauce is evident. Altho the portions are generous the sizing options and pricing in conjunction with the sides don’t make much sense to me. The smallest size of wings and a side will be $20-$30 which seems pretty expensive for some wings and a side.(the photo of the drumsticks is missing one bc I ate it before taking the picture)

Best chicken in town! We ordered a large variety and sides. Everything was incredible. I been eating Korean chicken and food ever since I lived in Fort Lee so I’m very happy the Ramsey area has a GOOD Korean chicken spot. The service was fantastic and prices are good. Fresh tasty and properly cooked. Try the Ddokbokki also, it’s very good!

I’ve ordered from this place many times, but the Sweet & Spicy Chicken I got yesterday was very disappointing. The chicken had a noticeable odor, and the sauce was only on the outside with no flavor inside the meat. It was a letdown, and honestly, it doesn’t taste anything like it did when the place first opened. Has there been a change in ownership or quality standards?

Ordered boneless wings. $18 wasted. These have to paid reviews because that chicken was so bad I couldn’t find a single piece out of the large portion that wasn’t a hunk of what I consider “the fatty part you trim off”. Stringy, rubbery, fatty, all the things you want to avoid with chicken….man yall hit all 3. I wasnt expecting much when I was forced to walk in and grab my order from a bagel shop? But wow…..that was…..BAD.

This is the worse don chicken that I had the chicken was not crunchy with a very little glazed the skin was soggy, on the bone-in on the chicken tenders were so fatty & grizzly , this is the worst Korean fried chicken that I had, I had better don chicken elsewhere , I would not go there again, its not like bon-chon Korean fried chicken.
