We ordered tamales here for Christmas which were incredible, so we decided to come back and try dining in with something else from the menu. I ordered the torta cubana and my wife ordered a gordita and cheese tamal. All were extremely tasty and served steaming hot, I highly recommend them. The service was great, the staff nice and attentive. We also had an horchata which I enjoyed, it didn’t have that watered down taste that a lot of places have. I’m definitely coming back soon.

House Tamal is a little, out-of-the-way place in a strip center a couple of miles from downtown Garland. Unobtrusive from the outside, but inside is a real hidden gem. The restaurant itself is bright and clean, the staff is friendly and welcoming and the food is very good. We tried the tamales and street tacos. The tamales have a perfect balance between the masa and the fillings. The masa was very fresh and moist, fillings were well seasoned. We had the queso y rajas and the carnitas. Both were very well executed. Looking at the menu, they have a lot more than street tacos and tamales. The space is minimal, bright, spacious and clean and the staff bends over backwards to make sure you have an excellent experience. You might not go out of your way, normally, but if you’re close, you should. We’re getting several dozen for NYE.

Wonderful spot. Food is made fresh to order, including the churros. They make these warm drinks that somehow give you cozy feelings, like a hug in a cup. One of the warm beverages is made from pecans.
The pork tamales are a customer favorite, and I understand why. I got the pork tamales plate for like $10. They were so moist. The beans were topped with cheese, which I liked. And, I didn’t have gas after eating the refried beans like I normally get. The rice was tasty as well. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu. The staff was sooo nice. I had a lovely experience dining in.

Este lugar fue super delicioso. We got tamales for Christmas and OMG THE BEST! they have the sweet ones too strawberry and pineapple. They won’t disappoint. Los tacos super ricos especialmente con Tortillas hechas a Mano al momento. Gracias por todo!!! I keep coming back to this place because they literally have the best sweet tamales ever.

This is like a trip away from home but you know exactly what you are going to get and it is soo satisfying. The tamales are wonderful and my favorite are the cheese. The pork is melt in your mouth good and the home made tortillas …well I only wish I could make these as good at my home!

She gave the right amount of meat at her old location. Now I have given her 3 trys to redeem herself, all 3 times they barely put any meat in the tamales. The flavor is wonderful but not enough meat in the tamale. Best tamales around, but not enough meat.

The owner was really nice greeting us. I had the Flautas & my husband had the tacos de chicharrón. Both were excellent. We also bought tamales to take home. They were also great!
