Reviews
Arigatou had a man and woman behind the counter who were both lovely and smiled to welcome us in. The place smelled AMAZING and has lots of nice Japanese decor from traditional-looking arrows, beautiful prints on the walls, cute cat and goose illustrations, books about japan to cute hand drawn cats on the whiteboard. Their rice maker looked like it was worth my mortgage and has a plague on it that reads “R. Icemaker”. They were listening to some kind of amazing easy listening music that made me think I was in a Murakami novel.
Because we had to wait a little longer than the DoorDash estimate, they happily and kindly threw in some mini ice creams for us, with a nice note on the paper bag, too!
The food was really, REALLY good. We got the teriyaki salmon bento, katsu bento and a box of assorted sushi. All of the food was GREAT and we could have easily stopped with the bento boxes because they are extremely good value. Rice, your topping choice (salmon, katsu as mentioned for us) 2-3 gyoza that were delicious, and a little salad for $16. The sushi box was also packed full.
I can’t recommend this place more, I’ll be going back a LOT!
The food is delicious and fresh, with generous portions at a price where you don’t feel ripped off! I have payed DOUBLE at other Sushi restaurants in Marin for less food!
Used to come here around 2007-2008 and popped back in here recently and heartened to see they are still going strong.
I’ve already eaten twice here this week and I’m DEFINITELY coming back on the regular.
ありがとうございました that means THANK YOU!
Drove over in less than 10 min. When I arrived, the older japanese gentleman checked if I was the katsu chicken order, and I confirmed. I waited for approx. 5 min until my order was ready. I wanted to pay cash but my bill was too big to break so I paid card, no big deal. Next time I will bring change.
Came back to work and ate a piece of katsu chicken. It was hot, juicy, with a decent amount of katsu sauce, and perfectly flaky, 5 ‘s. The bento comes with rice, salad and 2 potstickers. The salad had a fresh lemon slice, light dressing, cherry tomato and broccoli onto a bed of lettuce. I was pleasantly surprised by the brocolli as it was a nice touch.
The potsickers were also yummy .
I don’t usually eat in this area as it is a little pricey, but I will definitely stop here again to try the other items!
Value, price, flavor, freshness all can’t be beat!
Arigatou!
I could not enjoy it because of that. Also the texture of the fry was not good. I guess I’m spoiled with the incredibly delicious karaage from every other Japanese restaurant I’ve been to in Marin.
The “big bento box” is a lot of food- huge portion of rice. The rice is overcooked and “wet”.
I appreciated walking into an authentic feeling place that made me feel like I was in Japan, but this is not the surprisingly high quality hole in the wall I was hoping for.
