Visited Douglas for the first time and was told about this place at the visitor center. Food was incredible and good spicy salsa. Can’t remember the name of the plate in the picture but was a flat round enchilada. We had the waitress tell us her favorites and we ordered that. All made from scratch food here. You won’t be disappointed.

The place is very run down. Food was barely passible and small portion for the money. Avoid it if you can.

Extremely disappointed in this restaurant. The menus are ridiculous, no explanation what a combo 1, grand combo, etc.. might contain. Every order we made was brought incorrectly! An omelet, consists of a few slices of cheese stuffed inside with some frozen bacon chunks and canned vegetables, heated inside an egg container and then throw a slice of cheese on top until it starts to melt. The sign outside says Mexican-American food but maybe they should explain that means your omelet is going to come with shredded lettuce and refried beans! I would never had imagined this. I do realize it is more dominately a Mexican restaurant who apparently is obsessed with Marilyn Monroe. However, even their mexican fare is extremely disappointing, the salsa is tomato juice with some chili powder. The refried beans, I imagine came from a similar can as the vegetables in the omelet. I will never return here, and I am amazed they have 4+ stars!

Waited almost 2 hours for our food. Wife got her plate first (around an hour and half in), finished eating then I got my plate later (Close to the 2 hour mark since we were seated) Constantly had to wave down our waiter for refills. Extremely slow, it wasn’t even full.

We stop in at least once a month, whenever we’re in Douglas. The chili rellenos are excellent. The service is very good and friendly. It helps to be a Marilyn Monroe fan, if you want to go for five stars all around…

We (party of two) are currently sitting in the restaurant. We waited 45 minutes for our food. It’s not that busy. One party of two that arrived after us got their food before us. There are two tables with parties of two that arrived before us that don’t have their food even after we ate ours. (Edited to add, they ordered the burger. If you order the burger prepare to wait almost an hour.)
If I’m going to wait 45 minutes for food it better be amazing. My husband’s chicken taquitos were bland and burnt. My enchiladas were made with tiny tortillas. Half the plate was lettuce.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is terrible. Dark lighting, black and red linens, tons of Marilyn Monroe in pictures on the wall. Menus are typed up in the tiniest font. Hard to read when it’s so dark. We should have walked out when we saw how bad it looked.
At least the chips and salsa were good.
