I met up with friends for lunch at Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar on Sand Lake, a spot that sits right on the water and immediately sets the tone with its vibrant, lakeside atmosphere.
Danna and Liz took care of us, and they were phenomenal. I really appreciate when servers know their menu inside and out and can guide you toward the best choices and Danna did exactly that. Her recommendations made the whole experience feel personal and elevated.
We kicked things off with Chips and Salsa, complete with a trio of sweet, mild, and spicy sauces. Simple, but the perfect warm‑up. I paired it with a Jarritos Guava drink, which hit that refreshing, tropical note.
For lunch, I went with Steak and Eggs from the brunch menu (a Danna recommendation) which was extremely satisfying, and exactly what I was in the mood for. My friends ordered the Ceviche with Maduros, and the presentation alone made it clear why it’s a favorite.
We wrapped things up with a Brownie topped with Ice Cream, the kind of dessert that forces everyone at the table to stop talking for a moment and just enjoy.
And of course, the decor deserves its own mention. The space has a bold, artistic vibe that reminded me of a Día de los Muertos celebration. It gives the restaurant a colorful, expressive, and full of personality feel to it which ties the whole experience together.

I LOVED the atmosphere—upbeat, colorful, and the different lighting as well as the setting on the lake! Cassandra was our server and did an excellent job suggesting popular items on the menu. The famous Guacamole was the best I’ve tasted and he made it right in front of the table. Big thanks to Daniel for hooking us up with the delicious churros for dessert!! It was so big, we had to share with the table beside us after we saw that fellow’s eyes widen with excitement as the server passed him by.

The food here was delicious. We had chips and house queso and the chips had a delicious seasoning on top of being the best queso I have ever had. We had margaritas and then fish tacos, all fairly priced and seasoned perfectly. Our waitress, Samm, was very helpful in determining our choices of what food to get. She was professional, courteous and prompt at getting our order to the kitchen. Everyone there was friendly and we will definitely be coming back when we are in the area again!

Beautiful atmosphere, but VERY noisy, bad acoustics, can barely hear across the table. Cool DJ and music, good table side guacamole ($25- with the works), drinks were drinks, not spectacular. Very busy and banging. Lots going on during a Taco Tuesday! They have an ALL YOU CAN EAT tacos ($27.99), but only a select few tacos to choose from. The tacos were ok, missing the magic and missing popping flavors. They were overpriced for the flavor profiles they brought to the table. For the two of us it was over $200. Fun night out, but loud and over priced. Definitely not a good place for an intimate date, but great for a company party or event. Place was packed, definitely need a reservation. The decorations were amazing as well as the light fixtures and sculptures. It is beautifully decorated. Bathrooms were clean and the service was good. We had a good time.

Kayla was amazing attentive and she recommended the best food I have in a wild. The margarita was delicious. I was seated promptly very friendly staff. Table, plates and utensils, clean and shiny.
Tres Leches highly recommended. Chips and salsa warm crispy and the hot salsa was great enough spice but not overwhelming. The meat was cook to perfection.
Definitely coming back and bringing friends.

Went for dinner on Sunday, Feb 24 around 5pm. Venue was lively with a few bars, a lot of decor and features outside seating overlooking a lake (which is where we chose to be seated).
Started with a couple of Margaritas and the Fresh Guac and Chips. The Guac is made right in front of you and it tasted fresh and robust. Medium spice level for the guac was balanced and not Too spicy. The chips also tasted fresh, had a good crunch and were well seasoned.
The server was friendly and offered me some suggestions on what to order…I decided to go with one and I was not disappointed:
My entreé was the Steak Quesadillas w/ Rice and Refried Beans ordered on the side, as they did not come with the meal. The Quesadillas were cooked to perfection, with a solid amount of cheese, meat, peppers and onions inside each one. The dish did come with Sour Cream, Pico di Gallo, and Guacamole, but in very small amounts.
Overall a great experience. It was a teensy bit pricey, but Worth it for the food and atmosphere.

Fabulous atmosphere! Indoor and outdoor seating. I don’t think there’s a bad seat in the house.
They don’t skimp on the food portions or the quality of the food.

Mia & Camilla were amazing! This was our first time going, and they made it such a pleasant experience. They made great recommendations for the food, which did not disappoint! They had salsa in three different heat levels. After a discussion with the waitress, we made our choice. She brought us all three to sample.
