We recommend the Southwestern Burger with Waffle Fries and the Humpback Burger with Onion Rings (pics of both). Nice, clean dining area and tidy restrooms. Quick service by Jennifer R. 5 stars all around for the Halftime Bar and Grill.

We went to try the “Best Burger in Iowa 2025” and it did not disappoint. Quality beef made into thick burgers with fresh and unique toppings. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and had friendly service throughout. Definitely stop for a burger if you are in the area.

Everything here was great. Family owned and ran by mom, son and daughter and all 3 are nice. The drinks were awesome, best blueberry mule ever. The boneless wings and delicious waffle fries were yummy. The staff was enjoyable to talk to. 10/10 recommend stopping in for a drink and bite sometime. Especially if you like sports.

Cheese curds here are amazing. The southwestern burger was fantastic. I substituted my fries for some pepper jack bites. My g/f ordered the fish and chips. I asked if Long John’s cod was better, and she said halftimes was better. Now if they can add some hush puppies to the menu and get a side of slaw with that basket that would be sweet. Someone near our table ordered a half order of a sausage sandwich. When they brought it out to him it looked like it covered the whole plate.

Support your local Iowa small businesses. Had a chance to stop by Half Time Bar & Grill in Pleasantville on Sunday for lunch. They recently won the best burger in Iowa competition.
Great menu. The burgers are outstanding. I had the Sriracha Bourbon burger and my wife had the Southwest burger. Just excellent burgers and can see why they took 1st place. Loved the smokey grill flavor. These burgers are big and with the lettuce, tomato, and onions these babies are stacked.
My wife said to tell everyone the only negative was to be prepared to ask for some extra napkins as they are so juicy. Not a negative but a compliment, they get 11 out of 10
The service was great. The staff was working hard as they are feeling the pressure of the surge in business due to the new award and visibility. We got right in and were well taken care of. Very happy to see a family run business get the recognition and boost. The hard work is paying off.
Side note and extra kudos. They source their meat from a local locker so supporting this local business is also indirectly helping another local Iowa business. Come on people…support local Iowa small businesses like these.

WOW, a relative recommended
“Halftime Bar & Grill” for their HAMBURGER. WOW, What a great burger. The burger was tender, beefy and hot. The beer was icy cold which made our day in the 100 degree temperature.
Will not pass up Halftime in Pleasantville again. Thank you to the staff at Halftime for making this a great dining place.

Trying the newly crowned Iowa’s best burger 2025. It’s fairly small but still a decent atmosphere. The burger, eh was better than average but not an award winner imo. But, the Long Island iced tea was one of the best I’ve had.
