Driving through town this place stood out for its reviews and it was 100% worth the detour. What a perfect stop, and such wonderful people running the place. I would have taken a before picture as I usually do but as soon as I tried this brisket I blinked and it was gone. So here’s the finished product and I don’t usually finish my plate. The Carolina Gold was hands down my fav sauce, and I don’t like mustard; says a lot. Right price for quality BBQ, amazing customer service and full bellies. Thank you, I cannot recommend this place more.

We are 2 Texans with a great dane traveling the US to see what this beautiful country has to offer. On a day trip to Durango, we stopped in to try Buckhead’s brisket sandwich and tacos which were so delicious. I especially loved their Carolina Gold sauce that I had to buy some for later. The owner was very kind and accommodating, and allowed us to dine in with our dog. We don’t get to do that often because of her size, which is understandable. We highly recommend Buckhead West BBQ, and will dine in the next time we are in town.

No gimmicks, small menu, basic venue.
We had everything: Brisket, pulled pork, Mac & cheese, potato salad, and coleslaw.
The brisket was perfectly seasoned, just enough smoke, moist and tender. Really good. It was shredded, which threw me off a bit. But it was delicious. No need for sauces, which is a hallmark of a good brisket for me.
The pulled pork was also well seasoned, tender and delicious. I would have preferred a heavier smoke, but their homemade sauces were great on the pork.
The sides were all similar: simple but really well done.

Absolutely amazing. I got the pulled pork plate with potato salad & coleslaw side. The woman working was very kind I believe she was the owner. She gave us 3 different sauces to try and K.C was my favorite although the other 2 were just as good. The pork was absolutely delicious. Very attentive & enjoyed every second of the experience.

This litle place was such a pleasant find!! The BBQ brisket sandiwiches were delicious!! The homemade sauces were out of this world!! The homemade potato salad was great!! I’m pretty sure the lady helping us was the owner because she was so customer oriented! Very friendly and welcoming!! Highly reccomend!!

A – MAZING BBQ and even better service! We are from Texas, so we know good BBQ. I could smell it from a mile a way, and knew we had to check out Buckhead West BBQ. I got the brisket plate and my fiance got the pulled pork plate. The meat melts in your mouth, the flavors were wonderful and the sides were on par. I love how they give you two different kinds of sauce on the side too. Bill and Tracey were so friendly and have a sincere interest in delivering only the best food. I highly recommend you stop in. You won’t regret it. Best BBQ in Durango!

If you are looking for BBQ in Durango, this really is the best I’ve had here after living here a few years. It’s juicy, tender, well seasoned, and requires no sauce to enjoy, but they will offer you three really good choices if you like. The price is fair, for the downtown Durango area, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Don’t skip this spot if you love pulled pork or brisket.

Easily the best BBQ I’ve had in Colorado!
Loved the easy to follow menu, the friendly service. It’s tasty, it’s affordable, it’s supporting local businesses…. 10/10

Excellent brisket sandwich and the sauces are SO GOOD. I couldn’t pick a favorite from the three they make in house. The owners were also lovely and made sure we were happy with everything. Will be back on my next trip through Durango!
