If you ever find yourself traveling between New Orleans and Birmingham I highly recommend you stop in Bayou Blue Cajun Bistro and have lunch or dinner. Catfish was perfect fried, cut into strips, batter was light and airy, gumbo was delicious (recommend mixing seafood w/ chicken) and the shrimp and grits were outstanding. The owners were very pleasant to chat with and the service was outstanding. Beignets were hot and fresh! They strived to ensure we left happy and full.

Excellent food, service and ambience. The owners have really put a lot of effort into the murals and decor with fun Cajun theme. Great chicken gumbo, onion rings, and hushpuppies. Also good catfish and whiting. Delicious!

Wow, what a great place for some good old Cajun food. Camping in the area here from Kentucky, retired military so I have eaten all over the world to include stationed in Louisiana for 7 years. The Cajun food was some of the best I have had and the atmosphere inside was great. Did not expect this nice of a place in Eutaw. My hat goes off to the owner and employees, great place, highly recommended if in the area

Wanted to eat here as local friends said it was great..they knew the owner and had told us the mother had retired and passed it down. Our food came out in bits and pieces and I do believe the waitress just forgot half the order .the Caesar salad had no dressing…I was asked if I wanted dressing…it’s a Caesar salad…it’s named for the dressing..we were one of 2 tables in the restaurant…no music…atmosphere was dead..your a Cajun restaurant play some Louisiana something ..food wasn’t bad.. the red beans were very salty…and we had to ask for spoons to eat the gumbo and red beans and rice..but the whole experience was just wrong…maybe mom shouldn’t have retired…

Really good food! My husband had the catfish po’boy. He said the bread was very fresh and asked a guy that works there if they made it there, and he said yes. I had the smash burger, and it’s definitely in my top 5 burgers ever. All the veggies on the burger and po’boy were very fresh. The onion rings were super thin and crispy

Very unique place you wouldn’t expect in rural Alabama but worth the drive off the interstate. Cajun onions rings are a must and the bread on the po boys is straight from New Orleans.

Stopped by during a road trip, great little spot for Cajun food! The fried catfish po-boy was top tier (especially with their tartar sauce). The hush puppies were great too.

Also, the restaurant is decorated beautifully; it was clean and had nice restrooms.

This is a follow up review to my post of Cajun’s after they first open. They have made some real improvements. The service was awesome and the food even better. The owners are always on hand to greet you and if you have an issue, one of them can address it quickly.

We had a very good lunch today at the Cajun Cafe. I had a cup of seafood Gumbo which was delicious. I also had the fried shrimp and catfish meal. My husband had the fried shrimp. Everything was very tasty. This is a big treat in a small town. Service was great. Owner came by to say hello and welcome. Love the interior and the bright colors. Make sure to check it out.

I stopped here on a cross country bike ride last year, and this place couldn’t have been a better introduction to Southern Hospitality. The owner was very accommodating, the food was great, and the locals were as generous as could be. It’s a good place to stop whether you’re traveling through, exploring Eutaw’s history, or you live there.
