The service is what made my experience here bad. The waiter(assumably owner as well) was very dismissive and rude. My first instinct as a I came in was to sit at table with 4 seats, since there was only one family in the restaurant besides me. It was an empty dining room. He told me to sit a 2 seater, which is completely fine, but he said it very disrespectfully. “No, not there, here” aggressively patting the table.. He plopped the menu down on the table from a high angle. Truthfully, I didn’t want to order anything after this so I just ordered a spicy tuna hand roll, since I was already sat. It was alright. Overall, the service is bad and I will not be returning.

Always delicious food! Eel, eel and more eel. Sushi, Shashimi, Unagi Don dinner, Rolls, Tempura, Dumplings, Edamame, house salad, miso soup, my Steak & Lobster Tail came steaming to the table! Diet Coke in a can. Service is very efficient and helpful. Thank you
They have become too popular on Friday nights- with in restaurant and take out customers. Yet …they haven’t adjusted with any additional staff?? One server can not handle a full house and take out customers. Suggest 1 more and see the results. Sat there 20 mins- got my own menu. Another table was already there before me waiting with menus to place their order. Then 2 more 2- tops came in and got menu. 4 tables waiting to order…lots of tables to clean. Only 2 other tables with customers. No sign of coming to take our orders. Poor Henry was working hard to help the Sushi Chef. I left- was hungry and it was getting late….and my favorite restaurant is only 1 block away. I will be back here definitely.

Little Tokyo is a 10/10 experience! As someone who has gone for over 10 years and taken friends here many times, they all appreciate the quality and options available in such a hole in the wall spot.
Henry seems to get a lot of reviews complaining about his service, calling him aggressive or rude. This is simply not the case- it is a difference in culture and dialect that is misinterpreted. Henry know every regular he has and treats them like friends! If you expect someone to wait on you hand and foot… this is not the spot. If you want high quality, well priced, sushi then Little Tokyo is the place to go.

My friends and I just had the most disturbing experience at this restaurant. The woman waiting tables practically threw the menus at our table. I asked why I was charged more than what the menu stated, which apparently was a very. provocative question. We were told that there was a new menu. However, we had been given the old one unbeknownst to us. I explained that The menu we received had a different price, and kept being told there was a new menu. Just questioning this, and asking to see the original was enough to cause this woman and the owner as well to start yelling at us. The owner told us if we didn’t like it we should not come back.I will never ever go back there and I hope you won’t either. No customer should ever be treated like this, Especially if they want to stay in business.
Very upsetting.

When friends and I had dinner here last night, the experience was a nightmare. First the owner slapped plastic encased menus down in front of us, then marched away without so much as a smile or a welcoming greeting. When we ordered, we asked for separate checks – no problem – but wait, there’s more to come. When part of the meal was served before the appetizer, I was snapped at when I asked about it. At the end of the meal, the waitress appeared with a piece of paper with our separate orders listed on it in her handwriting, and with each order totaled. So far so good. However, when one of our party saw that she was charged an amount that was higher than the menu stated, warfare began – the waitress angrily said that her numbers were correct. When asked to provide the plastic menu, she became more agitated, went back to the manager, screaming about our request, (we were seated in the front of the restaurant – she was in the back and we could still hear her) but returned with that menu, followed shortly thereafter by the manager. Turns out she was going by a paper menu – it showed prices had increased across the board but the plastic menu hadn’t been updated yet. She insisted that the paper prices were now in effect. When we politely and quietly said they had to honor the prices given to us, the owner YELLED at us and told us that if we didn’t like it, we were not to return. The waitress then angrily scratched out the prices and put in those from the plastic menu. The result was a mess and indecipherable. The final separate machine-printed invoices didn’t list our purchases or the tax – just a total. Since tax wasn’t itemized, I have to wonder whether taxes were paid to the state on that transaction. At no time were any of us rude to them, nor did we raise our voices. A horrific experience. We’d eaten there before. Never will again.

Love this spot, best sushi in Norwalk easily. Henry is a bit quick with everything but he loves his customers and his restaurant and you can taste it in the food that is served.

This place is a GEM! I stopped here for dinner when I was traveling for work. Super cozy vibes; the owner and chef are incredibly friendly and knew many of the folks that came in. Delicious fresh sushi and great value in my opinion.

I will say this literally 15 or more years ago this was my favorite place, I don’t know what happened to the owners and workers, they do everything to make sure people don’t come back here anymore, the food is now so-so, it’s a real shame, this was my favorite place….
