Stumbled upon this gem while visiting Asheville. Close to a wonderful independent bookstore so stopped in for lunch and nostalgia. My husband’s BLT and my chicken salad were excellent. So fun to sit at the lunch counter and see and listen. One of my favorite parts was watching a worker make a steaming, frothy hot chocolate with a machine that looked like it was from the 60s. After enjoying lunch at a great price, I was able to walk through the art gallery. The Soda Fountain is definitely a cool place to go!

A great lunch. It was amazing to watch 3 young people handle a sudden rush of a tourbus crowd (gaggle?) of elderly tourists. It looked like the filming of ‘Cocoon 3’, but the service never wavered. The food good, timely, and served with alacrity.

Tucked away behind art exhibits lays a sandwich shop which proudly boasts big ass fried baloney sandwiches. I might argue these sandwiches are just as much art as any of the paintings surrounding you while you dine. My tuna melt was warm and packed with flavor and the big ass fried baloney sandwich (with EVERYTHING on it) lived up to its name. The milkshake was an average milkshake but I’m not docking a whole point for it.

All you could want from an old school diner vibe. Hotdogs were fantastic and that’s what we came in for. Girls behind the counter were friendly and great

The hotdogs were great. At the time of our visit the fountain machine was down but everything else was great!

A very fun place to go! We loved our visit there and Grandma and the Great Grandkids thought it was a Blast…. From the past for Grandma. Everything was clean, service was great and the wait was not too long. The Malts were delicious too.

Root beer float was nice and the original decorations were cool, but the food was actually not too unique imo. Cool to walk around the art afterwards though

It was great to find this place inside the Lofts of Woolworth. Ice cream was delicious!! You can also find tables to seat there and look for local art displays.

This place is cool, especially if you like nostalgia. If you ever find yourself in Brevard, NC (I think that is where I am) then try and have lunch here. What a great atmosphere!
