Very reasonably priced lunch specials, all were $8.25 when I reviewed. They have a direct online ordering system so you’re not charged higher pricing like ordering from other places via third party, but you’ll have to pay at the restaurant itself.
I’ve been ordering fried half chicken with beef fried rice at several Chinese take-outs in the area and Hunan Wok has the most generous portion of chicken. The lunch specials I’ve tried so far (curry chicken, bean curd with garlic sauce) have been good, but I had to one star out because the broth in their wonton soup had an off-taste (the wontons themselves were fine). Unlike other places you’re charged extra if you want an eggroll instead of soup.

Extremely disappointed, we have been coming here for a long time. We have seen the 2 daughters grow to young ladies. But unfortunately the past few times we have ordered the food quality have dropped tremendously. Last night was the last chance. We can not be continuing getting low quality food. We used to get the 2liter soda FREE deal just because of the amount of $ we spent every time. And now the food tasted spoiled and rubbery. Honestly we have experienced with food. So plain honestly the food is (Old). I’m sorry but this was the last order. We will be taking our business elsewhere including my family and friends.

We went for the dinner. Food was good. The lady taking orders and serving food at the table was very nice & friendly. The place was clean. Their portion is very big so if you don’t have that much appetite, 2 people can eat from one order of Entree which is fantastic & prices are very reasonable.

What happened to this place!!? The last two orders have been complete trash. I hate leaving negative reviews but our chicken was like 90% breading and the rice was raw, tasted old and had barely anything on it. I used to love to order from here too, sad to see it fall so low.

It was love at first bite for me at Hunan Wok. The dine-in experience leaves much to be desired because the dining area set-up is very drab and dull, but who cares? It’s Chinese food, not fine dining! The food is what matters and it is ALWAYS good. I’ve never had a bad customer service experience either. The only matter that I have issue with is that they continue to charge the former NJ sales tax of 6.875% instead of the current rate of 6.625%. It’s only a matter of a few cents but If you total that up amongst all of the customers in a year, that adds up to a pretty penny in their pocket! So, make sure to address that when paying for your order. Other than that, I have nothing but high praises and I’ll continue to be a lifetime customer.
Update 9/30/25: I understand how hard everyone’s pockets have been affected by inflationary pricing and a declining economy; However, it’s absolutely inexcusable to serve customers spoiled food! My family spent $100 on food last night and nearly everything smelled awful and tasted spoiled. The sesame chicken, and wonton soup were extremely sour! The only thing decent tasting was the French fries! How sad that Hunan Wok has lost a long-established customer. Just despicable.
