Terrible experience here after years of patronage. One of our party slipped and fell walking in on their unsalted ramp. She badly injured her wrist and shoulder and the manager (Heather) was extremely rude and unhelpful. The bartender had to be asked to give ice by us and begrudgingly offered ice in a rag. She was able to miraculously produce a ziploc, but was consistently rude to us. Servers are always excellent but we now have to cut our ski trip short due to the injury. We had to insist they salt the ramp and below is video of the ramp after their salting. Completely covered in ice and totally unsafe. Heather scolded us when we complained and was so nasty. What a terrible lack of empathy and hospitality by the restaurant!

We were so happy to be able to walk from the hotel to the restaurant after a relaxing day at Emerson Resort and Spa, where we enjoyed a treatment, settled into our room, and walked outside along the Esopus Creek. Dinner was fantastic – I had a porkchop and my friend Leanne chose the steak. We both had doggie bags to bring home! Our waitress was great, attentive but not overly so. She was honest in her opinion on what to order. Loved our dinner and would go back again for sure. They also serve breakfast. They were super busy when we were there, but you couldn’t tell – everything from start to finish was spot-on.

We had a good experience there! I ordered a risotto and the melted cheese was missing on the plate, it came just with a little bit on top. Usually risotto is creamy, but this one was not, but was tasty anyway. It’s a good vegetarian option. My husband ordered red meat and he liked! We also ordered a calamari and we loved; the sauce is delicious. The alcohol free drink was perfect and very refreshing. The staff is super friendly!

Nice vibe of a Adirondack style lodge. Super friendly staff working hard to try to meet any needs that we had (for which we appreciated). The food itself was edible but had a lot of points where it fell flat. The sweet and sour tofu was a flop. The grilled trout was excellent but the ubiquitous saffron rice on most dishes was tasteless. The cheese plate was underwhelming and needed fancier presentation, higher quality crackes, and more than just three white cheeses.

The food is delicious here. We visited on a Sunday morning and had the steak and eggs and homemade corn beef hash. I am impressed when even the sides, like the freshly made toast to the red potato home fries are well made. Nothing was left on our plates!

Step back in time at Catamount Restaurant. This is the kind of place that you want MORE people to know about–but not too many! The restaurant is a part of the Emerson Resort complex, but everybody’s welcome. It’s like stepping back into 1975, for real. There’s a view of the Esopus that will improve when whatever they’re doing on the other side is finished.
I had the Esopus Omelet the first time I went there. It was light, fluffy, made with real eggs, and I never thought eggs and cream cheese should be together, but like the Montagues and the Capulets–I was wrong. That thing was as light and fresh and captivating as FIRST LOVE. Go. It’s bedlam on the weekends, so go on Monday, and take a picture of the hours posted–so you’ll know.

We went to Woodnotes Grille for my birthday dinner. The resturant has a beautiful spa like soothing atmosphere. The waitress was quite attentive and knowledgable. We ordered the Sundance Farm Chicken and Maple Brimmed Pork Chops dishes, they were absolutely delicious. They were so kind to gift us a sweet birthday brandy cocktail. Would definitely recommend.

Right on the river and feels like a lodge. It’s part of a resort but we just went to eat dinner. It felt a little wonky like it was stuck in time but the others in my party loved it so much. Very good food and we enjoyed a cocktail on the patio overlooking the river before dinner.
