Had a reservation at The Library Social Club Wine Bar on Thursday, but it was closed when I arrived no notice or update anywhere. Luckily ended up at Residual Sugar Wine Bar instead and it turned out to be a great choice. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, service was friendly, and the wine selection was excellent. Definitely glad I came here instead and will be coming back again.

This is a very nice wine bar in downtown Walnut Creek.
I came in on Saturday night over Labor Day weekend, and there were not many patrons there. Service was outstanding, as the staff was incredibly knowledge about the wine on the menu. Small bites available range from gourmet cheeses, to paninis, and pulled pork sliders. I had the pulled pork sliders, and they were absolutely delicious!
I highly recommend this place, and I will definitely be back!

Always a great experience at RS. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful; always eager to share their opinion about the different wines they offer and make recommendations based on your tastes.
The food is good too. Try one of the paninis – or all of them.
If you can, sit outside. It’s conformable and relaxing.

We were there for a special event, so I can’t speak to the regular day to day operations. Our food was great, the wine is good, and the beer selection was perfect for me. The place looks and feels great, like you are in a special place. The staff is super nice and ready to help and chat with you. I recommend this place very highly, if you are looking for wine and a place to hang with your friends and family.

We stopped in for a glass of wine after dinner. We actually had a great experience here… the service was great, and the wine we had was good. However…. The place is kind of a facade…. It’s not really a wine bar, so much as a bar, that has a wine list. They have a wall filled with dusty bottles of vintage wine, that we were informed were “just for show” and wouldn’t be good to actually drink. They also have a wine tap system behind the bar…. That is just being used as an extra cooler.
If you’re looking for a solid bar with a nice atmosphere and good service, definitely recommend. But if you really want a true wine bar or bottle shop…. This isn’t your place.

Loved coming here even before covid. Lots of excellent wine selection and good food. Staff is super friendly!
Yesterday, we came by to support and they have a gorgeous parklet area with heated lamps for outdoor dining.
We arrived much earlier then the open time, as their hours on Google were outdated, but the staff was willing to accommodate.
Our server Emily (also known as penguin) was super friendly and welcoming. She was also very knowledgeable about the wine!
Will definitely come back again to support this business.
