Kusina is a true gem and a brand-new addition to the West Valley of Phoenix, offering a much, needed oasis for authentic Filipino cuisine on this side of the valley. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the passion and love the cook pours into every dish!! They had a buffet style at their launch day but that’s only on that day! It’s to showcase all their food! They are now serving regular cook-to-order, dine-in experience that captures the warmth and comfort of Filipino home cooking.

I brought my family during their opening, and we were so impressed that we later trusted Kusina to provide food for our family party as well. And when I say we usually don’t cater since many of us cooks, should tell you how much we liked their food. That alone speaks volumes about the quality and consistency of their dishes. Every dish is prepared with care, intention, and respect for tradition, making each visit feel special and memorable.

The food is consistently delicious and full of bold, authentic flavors. The pancit is perfectly seasoned, the lumpia is crisp and savory, and the Filipino fried chicken is juicy and satisfying. Traditional dishes like dinuguan and dinakdakan are executed beautifully, and the desserts! Omg the deserts! Classics such as buko pandan, ube biko, and leche flan are rich, balanced, and absolutely unforgettable.

Kusina isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of Filipino culture that the West Valley has truly been waiting for.

12 pieces of lumpia (this BIG!!!) for $10 is such a good steal

They also keep the coconuts in the fridge and it was so refreshing after a hike in 80 degree weather

Food is really good. But can be pricey. Got the sisig, which was $15 but never came with rice. For that price it should at least have rice on the side. Still will come back though. Its the second best sisig I have ever had.

Finally, a Filipino spot that ditches the “turo-turo” steam table for real, cooked-to-order quality! If you’re tired of food sitting in a warmer all day, you have to try Kusina. Their young chef, trained straight from the Philippines, brings a level of freshness and technique you just don’t find at a typical carinderia. Every dish comes out hot, vibrant, and bursting with authentic flavor—you can literally taste the difference in the crunch and the seasoning.
The service is just as impressive; everyone greets you with a genuine smile and makes you feel right at home. It’s clean, welcoming, and easily the best way to experience classic Filipino dishes done right and true to Filipino tradition of sharing, the portions are huge! – entended to be shared by the whole table.
Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. You won’t regret it!
And make sure to get the halo- halo if you still have room
