Excellent experience at this restaurant starting with the very professional and descriptive wait staff and mater de. Local beers on tap were limited but delightful. Appetizer, main course and dessert were thoroughly enjoyed by each of us and we left full and happily satisfied.

The food was excellent and they had vegetarian substitutes on most of their dishes which was a nice surprise. The staff was friendly and attentive. Overall an amazing dinner and a must stop if you are in the area.

My new favorite cocktail EVER – the GRAPEFRUIT AWAKENED • Hendricks Gin • strawberry infused St. Germain • Grapefruit cordial. The Chicken Picasso was out of this freaking world also. Can’t wait to go back and get those two things again! OFF THE CHARTS YUM!

I was pleasantly surprised. I had a lot of apprehension, as I thought the menu looked a little overdone- some extra fanciful combinations simply for the sake of adding complexity. But I found every dish to be pretty well thought-out. The beer selection, although narrow, had something for everyone’s different tastes. The Mac and cheese appetizer was probably the second best I’ve ever tasted, and worked as the main meal for my wife with plenty to take home for lunch. My child’s pasta dish was cooked perfectly; they didn’t db down the quality because it was a kid’s meal. My burger was cooked to perfection. The pickled beets didn’t add to it, but didn’t take away from it either. The Thai slaw was great – not overly complex, but extremely well balanced. I will certainly return, often. Although prices were higher than you see in this area, I did not feel like it was overpriced. You get what you pay for here, and I found the price to be of value for what we received.

Picasso’s is our own little slice of foodie heaven out in Barre. If you want gourmet food with a small town feel, this is the place for you. The service not only reaches, but exceeds my expectations which are VERY high. The restaurant itself offers a quiet, romantic setting, perfect for a dinner date, but can also accommodate family’s as well. The food will never disappoint. The chef offers an eclectic mix of dishes with worldly flavors and all are on point with generous servings as well. The drinks, however, are in a class all by themselves. Lacey is always coming up with new and innovative drinks that are sure to please even the pickiest of taste buds (I fall into this category myself as I hate drinks that actually taste like alcohol!). She is creative and knows exactly what to pair with what and is constantly introducing new cocktails! Overall, Picasso’s is 100% worth the drive out to Barre!

We went there on a Saturday around 6:30 pm and didn’t have to wait for a table. We had the Picasso’s chicken (delicious) and a steak. The meat was very good quality, cooked as asked. The chicken breast was very tender. The service was also very good. It might look pricey, but we don’t regret it. We’re not from the area, but we’ll definitely go back if we get the chance.

The food at Picasso has been consistently delicious. There’s a nice variety of main dishes. I love the “chef salad” which isn’t the typical chef’s salad with ham, cheese, etc. Instead it’s the chef’s take on a salad with different ingredients and flavors that connect. The food is fresh/local and the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food. Much more reasonable than heading east to Boston or the 495 area and just as good! We love it.

The salmon was moist and delicious, but was supposed to be “rosemary and orange”; you squeezed a piece of orange on your fish that had not the slightest hint of rosemary. Caesar salad was very good, not overdressed. Our waitress was very attentive and very helpful when ordering; one of our party had food allergies.
Overall experience was very good but the food is not as good as 2 – 3 years ago when it was outstanding.

I realize all the other reviews are great, however I must be honest in the best interest of this small business. The price is very high for the product. The food itself is of a high quality, however the execution was way off. Lobster bisque was the equivalent of cheap canned gravy with three very small pieces of lobster. The fillet mignon was ordered medium rare and was as close to well done as a fillet can be cooked. Very disappointing. My friends and I pretty much all ordered the fillet and were all very over cooked. Not pleased with a mediocre meal and a $700.00 bill to follow it up. Honesty is everything. I can’t give anything other than the truth.
