Finally made it out to The Madras and I’m glad I did. Had Goat Fry Biryani, Dal Tadka, and Garlic Naan. Everything was delicious and it was so much food. The two of us could not come close to finishing everything. Medium spice was spicy enough for us. The goat was tender and the rice was cooked perfectly. Dal Tadka is one of my new favorite Indian dishes. This would be a good winter meal. Garlic naan was on point. Friendly service. They gave us enough time to decide. We were too excited about the menu and couldn’t decide what we wanted.. Didn’t take long to get our food and everything was piping hot. Bright, spacious dining area.

Halal South Indian authentic food. We were on long weekend trip with parents looking for some homely food and this place came close. We ordered goat fried biryani, though little spicy but with raita it was flavourful. We also ordered rasam and rice, which my kids thoroughly enjoyed. The service was top notch. The place and atmosphere is little boring, but the food makes it better. The best dish was chicken vindalo and buttermilk!

Was completely empty when we stopped and were skeptical to try. But it did not disappoint us at all. The idlis were wonderfully soft and made us feel full. The cheese dosa was loved by the kiddo, and so was the masala dosa. Though the masala dosa could use a little bit more masala stuffing in it. They also have dosa happy hour until 8pm on weekdays. Definitely recommend to have an early dinner to take advantage of the deal.

The highlight of the meal was the Madras Lemonade. It was so good, I ordered another one. The filter coffee was also good. I asked the staff to fill our bottles with water and they did. Great place for authentic South Indian food. Definitely recommend to try it.

My husband and I had been lots of Indian restaurants for during 14 years of marriage. We lived in San Antonio for 7 years and tried lots of Indian restaurants in here. We didn’t plan to come here but gave it a try.

We ordered one of Lunch specials for two of us, which includes ‘MEGA’, and it was less than $20. They even had salad and soup for free to whoever dine in. Salad was fresh, and soup was simple but yummy.

The food was ridiculously generous amount. We couldn’t even finish, so we packed leftover.

We are about to leave San Antonio and have never heard this place because this place just opened about a week ago.

If you are sick of typical Indian buffet restaurants or Chicken Tikka Masala, this is right for you. My husband and I were very satisfied with the amount and quality/taste of foods.

I highly recommend this Indian restaurant to any Indian food lovers.

Now here is my honest review of my first time dinning here. Bear mind, I’m Mexican American. I love spices, Mediterranean, and Indian Cuisines.

First off – this place just opened – keep this in mind.

Second – it seems like a family owned business, clearly it isn’t going to have the atmosphere of Caesars Palace, go easy on them. Give them time, bet you they build and remodel as they go, have a little faith.

Third – Have you ever tried to make an Indian cuisine? Just one plate of food? It takes time. Give them a break, this is a sit down experience, if you don’t like that type of – 15 to 30 min wait – I recommend you order to go and ahead of time.

Lastly- despite the look of the place – The food! The serving sizes! The sauces! The aromatics! The courtesy desert for having to wait!

EVERYTHING ABOUT THE FOOD !

AMAZING!!!

I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who has never tried Indian food before to come – sit down, and enjoy a pricey, but well served, dinning experience.

I love it.
Definitely will be back.
Blessings.

First day food experience!
Not recommended and will not visit again.

Appearance: Dirty restaurant to start with a first day is not a good impression , a fly on mirror, hard water stains on plate, fork and spoon, dirty carpet.

Service: No one at desk, no greetings, not having all food options, waited for more than one hour and received food for one family member and rest still waiting.

Food Appearance: Looked good. But plates are dirty. Using steel needs extra efforts.

Food Taste: Idly was good, dosa was good, sambhar was sweet and bad in taste, untreated hard water was served, samosa was good, rice and daal was bad

We decided to try this place out instead of Cicis like we had planned. My girlfriend got the Chicken Tikka Masala, and I got Chicken Tandoori. They were both so delicious and the portions were very filling. Definitely coming back it was amazing with just the right amount of spice.
