I have to say that this place for sure took me by surprise. I got the 2 piece dark meat meal: the chicken was excellently seasoned and tender, fries were tasty, and the biscuit was dense and tasty. For the price, what you got is quite amazing. Outside seating was great.
A few suggestions I would like to see from the place. One being a greater and richer sauce selection. The ranch was good, but I would love to see an addictive ranch be made. You could also add a spicy Chipotle mayo sauce, honey mustard, or come up with different ideas for sauces, as it would make the dishes so much better. Also, if they opened and advertised as a late-night restaurant, I think me and my friends would go around 11 pm just to get some chicken (I know this is not tech culture, however). The menu could also be more diner style, making the combos more obvious and the popular dishes stand out.

This is my go-to place for fried chicken. It’s a lightly breaded, vastly elevated KFC-style chicken. Super tasty.
I get the two piece dark meat or the half chicken if I’m hungry. It comes with fries and a biscuit. Chicken is excellent, fries and biscuit could be a little less oily. Delicious nonetheless.
They have packets of hot sauce on request that are mildly-hot and a perfect pairing. Try it.
Would recommend and of course I have come back many times.

Got a sampling if a bunch of things. Chicken was very good. Fish was good but a little under seasoned. Shrimp very good. Fries were crispy and flavorful. Mac and cheese was decent but not amazing. Collard greens were some of the best I’ve ever had. Banana pudding was delicious. Pecan oie was good, but hoped for amazing. Service was friendly qnd attentive. Would definitely return, many times.

I just went there for the first time and the food is delicious. The woman working there was also very nice and friendly and explained the new menu and how drinks from the fridge are included with the sandwiches. I got chicken sandwiches and a catfish sandwich and loved them both. The fish and chicken were cooked to perfection and had a tasty coating. And the fries were delicious too. I will definitely be back.

Catfish was the star of the meal. Don’t think just get that! Usually fried fish I’ve had tends to be overdone but this was perfectly cooked. Breading on it was just right too.
Fried chicken was solid. No complaints.
Biscuits were moist, buttery. Basically exactly what you want in a biscuit.
Fries: if they had just a bit more batter and crispier they would have been top tier in my book. Still solid.

If you’re in the mood for Southern inspired fried chicken, catfish, and/or shrimp, definitely stop by this unassuming, tiny spot in a small neighborhood strip mall! Not far from 85 and the Evelyn exit, 237 at Dana, 101 and Shoreline, and just a few blocks off downtown Mountain View’s Castro Street, it’s off the beaten path, but a gem of a spot to grab a bite for lunch or dinner. It’s everything you want in fried food- crispy outer breading that isn’t too thick, and a firm, juicy inner that isn’t tough. The cornbread was moist and buttery, seafood coated in corn meal, and all the food was served in generous portions. Get the large collard greens- they reheat well and are fantastic with the packet hot sauce they give you (like pepper sauce). A small, clean, and brightly decorated interior for dining inside or enjoy the Bay breeze and sit at a table outside, where friendly staff will come and chat with you. Being a fast casual spot, it’s also nice to order ahead for a take out order when you need to eat, but schedules got too tight to make your own family meal. I grew up eating my dad’s fried catfish and collard greens, but have never been able to make it quite right (he was born/raised in the South and I’m Cali raised), so it’s definitely nice to have the option for a little bit of southern comfort food in the middle of Silicon Valley. If you’ve been before, take note that they’ve changed hours- now open Sundays and closed Mondays. Make it out to support this small business.

I went there for a quick solo dinner on an early Tuesday evening. It’s at the end of a small plaza a block north of ECR. The parking lot was nearly full but turn over is fast. There is some interior seating; a table and chair setup for about 14 people. You order and pay at the counter from the menu board behind the counter. I ordered the two piece dark meat, which came with a biscuit and fries.
My meal was brought to me shortly in a box with the biscuit in a bag. The chicken had a crunchy breading and was very moist. The fries were hot and crispy. The biscuit was fall apart moist. Every thing was tasty and a little salty.
A very good neighborhood chicken place with reasonable prices. I went here when they first opened for the catfish, which had a “bottom of pond” taste and I wouldn’t recommend. It’s repeatable for the chicken.

WELCOME TO MOUNTAIN VIEW!! The well seasoned, juicy fried chicken wings did not disappoint! The fries were crisp and super tasty. The coleslaw had just the right amount of “tang,” and sweetness for mom, and the biscuits were moist and fluffy with a kiss of honey. ( move over Red Lobster cheddar bay) Easily my new favorite. I could eat an entire tray. My daughter enjoyed the creamy southern style Mac n cheese. The restaurant is very clean and has seating indoors and outdoors.
Jason offered wonderful customer service with a smile and was nice enough to bring our orders to our car, which I appreciated as I have back issues. We’ll be back! Looking forward to trying the chicken sandwich and the red velvet cake and a bag of biscuits♡ Welcome to The View!
