The food is excellent, and the portions are very generous. Many of the meals can easily be shared and still leave you full. Some items are cooked to order and require a short wait, but the food is well worth it. The owner is very friendly, as are the rest of the staff. I especially appreciated the Black History Wall.

First time at this place and it was the best soul food I’ve ever had. The smothered chicken, Mac n cheese, fried catfish and pecan cake was absolutely to die for. Came out HOT and so fresh. Not to mention the owner knew it was our first time and gave us extra sides and 2 pieces of cake on the house. Amazing, genuine people that deserve all the business in the world. We live 2 hours away and will definitely go out of our way to come back here.

Initially, I planned to get my food to go, but the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was so peaceful and welcoming that I decided to stay. Gospel music was playing, and the calm, faith filled environment immediately put me at ease. I could truly feel the presence of the Lord in this establishment, and it was a blessing to sit and enjoy my food while it was hot.
Ms. Renee, the owner, was absolutely phenomenal! She was attentive, personable, and genuinely engaged with every customer. She made me feel welcome and valued, and you could tell she truly cares about her customers, her employees, and her business as a whole.
There was no wait when I arrived, and although there was a sign stating fried food could take up to 15 minutes, my food came out quickly. Everything was fresh, hot, and delicious! The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and amount of food received.
What stood out most was the atmosphere she has created. It was welcoming, comforting, and filled with sincere care for every customer. This is more than just a restaurant. It is a place where you can feel comfortable, welcomed, seen, and appreciated.
I highly recommend supporting this business, and I pray continued blessings and success over Ms. Renee, her employees, and all that she is building. I will definitely be returning!

That chicken was fried to perfection really crispy and crunchy but it had absolutely no flavor or no seasoning. I was craving banana pudding that’s why I went in and that was disappointing. No whip topping and barely no bananas just the custard with cookies jammed in a container.

This is by far one of the greatest down home southern cooking experiences that I’ve had in a long time I’ve had the oxtails, neck ones, pig feet collard greens seasoned to the T, just like my grandmother would season them. The yams and purple hull peas, cabbage made you want more. I definitely would recommend you to try this restaurant out if you’re looking for a place that reminds you of your grandmother‘s cooking.

Man, this was an awesome experience‼️ First off, that Chess Pie is HITTIN’‼️ I came in yesterday for my first time ever and was greeted with great energy‼️ I wanted a veggie plate and they didn’t have an item ready for my order, but I was willing to wait. The wait ended up being longer than expected which wasn’t an issue for me, but they really accommodated by giving me a free meal while I waited for the meal I had originally ordered‼️ I was so grateful‼️ They went over and beyond and I’ll DEFINITELY BE RETURNING‼️

I ordered on DoorDash after seeing reviews. I ordered turkey wing 10/10, dressing 7/10, yams 10/10, mac&cheese 5/10 and greens 2/10. The greens have very little seasoning, I can only eat them on the fork with another side, there’s no visible meat, onion or anything in the greens. The cheese on the Mac and cheese is meh. Change these 2 items and everything will be excellent. Add a choice on DoorDash to include gravy or no gravy on dressing. I would have enjoyed gravy on mine. I wish you much success. I will try again soon please make some adjustments on Mac&cheese and definitely on your greens. Turkey was flavorful and slid off the bone.
