We wanted to love it but ended up with a to be determined. Passing through an intimate setup of a small dining area, we arrived at our table on a remodeled outdoor deck. Our group accepted the unlimited tapas challenge as a great way to sample the menu. Hits: Yellowfin Tuna [perfect sear, A+aioli], Pork Str Taco [big portion] Bang Bang Salmon [so good we got a 2nd] Shishito Peppers [looked and tasted great]. Drinks: all winners. Misses: Patatas Bravas [nothing special] Brussel Sprouts [ didn’t recall them until looked back at photo] Turkey meatballs [super dense light flavor]. Service. Let’s expand on this point, I’m very familiar with the tapas concept. However, it’s not an invitation to have lightly skilled (I’ll go as far as to say, not properly trained) servers that add nothing to experience when you try to offer an elevated pricing and atmosphere. Major letdown, we were offered little to no insight into the menu. In fact, we were correcting our server on some of the components in the dishes. Prime example was he didn’t know the types of cheese on the board 101 stuff. Dropping a utensil on someone in our party and presenting us a desert we didn’t order, which we had to awkwardly decline, didn’t meet the basic bar of competence. Will probably give it another shot, but sit at the bar, order the memorable drinks and tapas, and avoid the drama going on around inexperienced staff.

I agree w Tedd L’s review.
We had a kind and willing server. Yet so inexperienced and poorly trained. Also too young to aptly answer questions and guide diners’ choices.
After looking up menu online to make sure there would be choices for our specific dietary needs, it was very disappointing to be told that the inline menu was not current.
The food was a huge letdown as well.
The salmon bites should be titled salmon crumbs as they seem to be the leftover scrapings from the pan. The restaurant does not know the meaning of “caramelized” because the unremarkable brussel sprouts had some onions on them but clearly not caramelized. The best thing we ordered was the corn ribs. An afterthought.
For the prices this restaurant really needs to up its game. Unless we hear it has we will definitely not return.

Update: A must stop during Christmas! The decorations are outstanding!! Highly recommend making a reservation.
Cool place and atmosphere! I wouldn’t say the food is outstanding, but I really like the concept of small plates where you can get the opportunity to try a lot of things. Our favorite was the chicken sliders.

We LOVE Union House! Bartender Maddie is an absolute gem !! She is so personable and goes above and beyond. Family owned business…we’ve met them all. Hard workers and true testimonies of how great our country and state of Wisconsin is! They offer tapas so we always order several plates and everything we order is always 5+ starts!!! From the moment you step foot in the door, to the moment you leave…the experience is amazing. Can’t say enough!! You’ll just have to give them a try yourself!

Absolutely amazing place. Had Sunday brunch after a long night. The food hit the spot and Bloody Mary brought me back to life. Then I asked for something to feel special. I got an amazing cocktail with glitter. It made me so happy that I was shinning brighter than my drink. Staff is very pleasant, local family owned place. Atmosphere is very arming and cozy. Definitely will be back and advise anyone at least to give it a try.

Very festive atmosphere- each time I’ve been here- summer on patio, Harry Potter themed in the fall and yesterday a holiday/winter wonderland. Drinks were good but food/tapas have consistently been underwhelming and overpriced. If I return I will skip the food and have a fun cocktail instead.

The service was great snd its a very nostalgic place but the food was yet to be desired.Small, BLAND basic food thats hyped up into nothing. Have been here 3 times and still the same letdown. Not seasoned enough , very tiny one bite portions with no flavor the sauces taste like they were out of a can.DO NOT waste your money here you will be very disappointed!!

When we moved to Cedarburg, we were excited to try all the restaurants in the area. When we first tried Union House, we felt the food was mediocre, but wanted to give it another shot. This time we sat outside and ordered a variety of tapas (about 7-9) which came out in a timely manner. Out of all the tapas we tried, we liked the yellowfin tuna the best. The drinks were good and we thought maybe Union House redeemed itself. That was until we kindly asked our server Alex to move inside while we finish our dessert and drinks due the mosquitos eating us up. It was a slow night and there were plenty of tables open both inside and outside, so I didn’t think it would be a problem. I even told Alex we would be happy to pay our bill in that moment, so she wouldn’t have to attend to us inside. She immediately looked SO annoyed that we asked and just said “yeah I guess” in a very rude manner. As we followed her inside, she put us at a table and then quickly turned and walked away obviously upset. I had no idea what the problem was and was confused by her nasty attitude. My husband who is extremely laid back asked me “what is her problem?” We just sat there wondering why she was so annoyed by a simple request. Then the hostess (didn’t catch her name) came over and asked us why were were sitting there in a dismissive way too. I explained to her that Alex sat us there and we were just finishing our dessert. The whole experience rubbed us the wrong way and we will definitely not be back. I’ve been in the service industry for 20 years and would never treat customers like that, especially when they are kind and just asking for a simple request. To be honest, the only nice person we encountered was the teenage boy who ran the food to our table and cleaned up the dishes from the table. Very sweet and kind! Maybe you should put him in front of customers more and less of Alex. When people dine out, it’s not only about the quality of food that determines if they’ll be back or not. It’s about the whole experience and I highly recommend that you train your servers and hosts to be kind and friendly to guests, otherwise they shouldn’t be in front of them at all.

The Union House is more than just “really good food”…the whole experience was AMAZING!! My mom and I were in Cedarburg for a girls weekend and went here for dinner. We made reservations and sat at the bar until our table was ready. Highly recommend doing that bc it was so fun getting a couple drinks and chatting with bartender. Restaurant is family owned…the daughter, Maddy and her father were behind the bar. They were soooo friendly! Drinks were absolutely delicious! When we got to our table, our waitress was also super kind. Service was A++. Tapas came out in a timely manner and were absolutely fantastic. When we finished our dinner, the son Chris came out with two Prosecco’s (on the house ☺️) for us and talked with us for a while. He was so sweet. Everyone just made us feel like part of the family. You know you had a good experience, when you can’t stop thinking about it. We can’t wait to be back and will definitely be telling all of our friends about the amazing experience we had at the Union House!!!
Thank you Maddy, Chris, and family!! ❤️

Union House in Cedarburg offers a unique dining experience with its tapas-style menu. The restaurant itself has an inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual night out.
We sampled a variety of dishes, including the Salami & Manchego, Arugula Salad, Burrata Salad, Pesto Steak Crostini, and Shishito Peppers. Each plate was well-presented and offered a burst of flavor. My personal favorite was the Pesto Steak Crostini. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the pesto added a vibrant touch. However, the crostini itself was a bit harder than expected, making it a little tricky to eat as a traditional bruschetta. A fork quickly solved the issue, though!
What we loved:
Tapas style: Perfect for sharing and trying a variety of dishes.
Flavorful food: Each dish was well-seasoned and delicious.
Suggestions:
While we enjoyed our meal, it would be helpful to have more information on portion sizes on the menu, especially for those unfamiliar with tapas-style dining.
Overall, Union House is a great spot to enjoy delicious food and drinks in a relaxed setting. If you are around this little town, check it out!
